The best "fries" I've ever had were wedge cut fries from mammoth Russet potatoes, which were then batter-dipped and deep-fried. Fantastic barbecue and blues joint here in Kansas City. The owner was the president of the Kansas City Blues and Jazz Society for years, and could get any national act he wanted.
