If I was a senior officer serving in the military and he was in charge, I would do the honorable thing and resign in protest. If I was a senior officer serving in the military AND was a person of color, I'd resign... before I was forced to. If I was thinking of enlisting, with him in charge, I would have second thoughts. And this guy, an outspoken racist, misogynist, who believes in torture and does not abide in the Geneva conventions, has NO FUCKING BUISNESS being involved in the U.S. military in any way. This is a guy that Putin, Xi, or any number of third world despots would love to have on their side.

He resigned due to disagreements over the administration's military strategy and his belief that the position required more time and attention than he could provide, given his other commitments.
