I'm wondering if one day I will be able to add a comment to my own story that does not need to wait for approval.

That depends on how often you comment.

It takes reaching a certain number of comments before the website grants you this privilege, assuming no one reports your comments for being offensive and such. No one knows these things for sure of course, so that's our working theory, one that has been tested empirically.

Well, once you reach this threshold, the comments you make on your own stories will become instant - they will appear as soon as you post them, so I guess you still have some way to go

I received the Instant Commenting Tech Tree Unlock somewhere between 20 and 30 total mod-approved story comments

No idea if there's an automated process or algorithm or formula behind that threshold, or if it's vibes-based from Laurel and the mods!
