Will this terrible tragedy in Cal turn Cal red?

Is anybody truly under any illusion that republicans can actually fix anything?

There have been natural disasters under every administration, how about they actually show some results before promising more.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those rooting for Trump to fail, I want him to succeed on a variety of issues, I just don’t believe he and his Congress will substantially do anything positive long term for this country. We need a leader who can start to narrow the chasm between the parties and truly build collaboration and change. Otherwise we’re just looking at 4 more years of pissing and finger pointing

We all feel for the loss of life and property. Will this tragedy affect voters?
Yes, if not now, as soon as the thousands upon thousands of people needing to rebuild find out they have to wait several years for a building permit. These are the highest taxed self sufficient people in the US learning about how they have been defrauded over their lives by Democrats. There taxes wasted on stupid shit like DEI and saving the Smelt.

This fire is also affecting the affluent, those hidden under the blue dome.

We'll never know in California, no Republican has held statewide office since 2006.
About 30 years ago a delegation from either N or S Carolina's forest management team went to California and instructed them on control burning, fire breaks, dried brush control and predicted major fires if they didn't take prudent measures to control dried underbrush.

One can put the blame for all of this squarely on the Democrat Party and its adherence to radical environmental dogma in its policy making going back decades.

An ABNORMALLY DRY start to the rainy season related to anthropogenic climate change that DonOld and the republicans deny is real, after an ABNORMALLY DRY winter related to anthropogenic climate change that DonOld and the republicans deny is real, has resulted in UNPRECEDENTED wildfires.

😳

But it’s the Democrats who recognize / accept anthropogenic climate change is real and are trying to address it who are to blame and will suffer politically???

🤔

You can’t make this shit up…

Well, I guess ineedhelp1, etc, just did…

😑

👉 ineedhelp1, etc. 🤣

One thing I hope this disaster will change is that we need to stop subsidizing sprawl in fire-prone areas and accelerate the construction of high-density homes in safer locations. It's heart-breaking how much people have lost, but we can't allow them to rebuild in the same danger zones.

What a nut.

What's needed is a tribunal to assign criminal and financial responsibility to the political leaders who brought this about with their stupidly dangerous policies.

It most certainly will, but not in the way you might think.

California is the 49th least dependent state on federal revenue. Unlike the beggar states like North Dakota, Indiana, Alabama which don’t provide educations or generate jobs for their citizens, but always have their welfare hands out, California can and does carry its own water.

California tax payers prop up failed Red states and for all their “conservation” values and preaching they can’t keep their own house in order.

Those taxes you ridicule pay for a functional government that can and does respond to its citizens needs. A concept foreign to most people in Red states because their state government keeps them poor and ignorant.

Internally there won’t be a significant voter shift, the Santa Ana winds are a fact of life and the state will respond efficiently.

Externally you might want to ask yourself why your state can’t be as responsive and why you can’t pay your own bills but spend your time denigrating success.

You don't have the emotional intelligence to do so, racist. :)
