Hey guys. Just wanted to share with you, that my mother passed away yesterday afternoon.

The last 1.5 days for her were trying and painful, but she was in hospice and getting morphine and an anti anxiety med, so that helped. I was with her at the end…

Anyway - just wanted to let you all know too. No arrangements, just a few memorials. Thanks all for your understanding, love and support, good vibes, prayers, and well wishes.

It meant a lot to me and Mrs Wonderer. (I couldn’t exactly tell my sisters and daughter that the literotica crew were thinking of us… )

How the F**K can they get away taxing you on things you work for/saved for/inherited. Down right unamerican!
(We don't have it here, or I'd be royally screwed!)

Think of it this way you work and pay taxes, you retire and collect your pension, social security, and investments, you pay taxes. Going in and coming out.

It was lovely being there at the very end and I’m sure very comforting for her. My sisters and daughter arrive shortly there after.

I'm good. I got dug out with only one misshap...I slipped on ice and fell in a snow pile. I'm OK
I have to take Mrs Rj to the chiropractor around noon today so I'll be leaving soon.

I saw that post the other day. I’m glad that you did not get hurt when you fell and hopefully Mrs.RJ is just going for a routine back crack.

Well happens too often here. And this was about 4 1/2 hours. Of course bitter cold out which doesn't help. 3,800 without power at one time down to 1,600 now.

Sorry that happened to you, OM. I live not too far. We lose power a lot.

I don’t know what the cause was, but there are 48 million dead ash trees in New Jersey due to the blight. When the weather gets really cold, ash is very brittle wood and a lot of tree snap and break. Often times over powerlines…

Yep, then they tax you on what you buy with the money you've already been taxed on!

OK, I know we need taxes to support society. Roads, schools, infrastructure, etc. And we are a rich enough society to have things like social security for those who are unable to work. (Not the retired people, they're only getting their own money back!). But personal property tax is BS!

I'm very sorry for your loss. But it's my thought that she's in a much better place. One without pain, turmoil, or strife. The ones passing before her preparing for her arrival, making sure that everything's just right and she can be rejoined by them. As she and they start preparing for the ones to follow. I've often thought that living our lives is truly serving penance for what our futures hold. Know that she and all your family will be in our thoughts, and prayers.

Yeah, that’s what sucks about the loss of a loved one. It takes a while to process it and begin the grieving process. My Dad passed over 2 years ago and there are times I wish I could call him and hear his voice.

It is a process but it sometimes feels like being out at sea, too. Some days the water is still as glass and sometimes there waves - lot and lots of waves. Even decades later. Thankfully by then, most of the waves are smaller and easier to navigate.

I agree, she is definitely in a better place. I hate to admit that I’m a little bit relieved, but it was hard seeing her in so much pain the last couple of days…

I feel the same. It's a huge relief once they are no longer in pain or ill.

My mom passed back in 2018. There are days I would still like her back - but not the 2018 mom who was so sick and infirm. The mom I'd want back would be the 1970s-2010s mom. But that's not an option. So live for today, while we have it.
