What are we all writing right now?

Hmmmm, let's see.
#1 a couple of new chapters for Jeong Park's First Frosh Ball (I have had a total block on this for way too long but I think I thought my way through it)
#2 a (short) story for Valentines Day
#3 Rewrite of "Never Ending Love" and a second novel, "A Little Happiness," to be self-published. I have a third one half done as well, "The Pink Qipao," to make it a trilogy, all set in the Shanghai of the late 1930's.
#4 My Geek Day event contribution
#5 and the third novel in my "Three Nights in Shanghai" trilogy. I owe my publisher that one - eeeek

Working on a few 750 word stories for the contest, a part 2 to my short Lesbian story Customer Profiling, and a longer story about a man who gets paid to seduce a woman for reasons that aren’t immediately apparent to him.

Have started outlining something for the Valentines contest as well. Just debating between a lighthearted/comic and a more straightforward romantic direction for it.

1. Last night I finished my 9k-word Valentine’s Day challenge piece.
2. I’ve decided on the concept for my Pink Orchid challenge piece: sci-fi piece set in the BattleTech universe about a clan Solahma Mech warrior that gets taken as a bondswoman by a merc unit. Ive got the 1st 1k words written in my head.
3. A mature piece about a married couple. The wife is using sex to motivate her husband to lose weight. He doesn’t realize it for the first half.
4. This morning I figured the concept for my Geek Pride story. I’m repurposing something I started 3 years ago and let die on the vine.
5. The first half of my 150k word poly/incest/romance novel is with my beta. In a 10 minute conversation she fixed my entire first chapter that I was unhappy with. I’m back burnering this until #3 is done and posted.

I'm working on another chapter from Neptune's Blessings, and a trio of short stories that can be read without reading the others but involve the same couple.

My latest efforts are with a story about a loving, long-married, faithful couple, with the wife debating with herself after a discussion with girlfriends about extra-marital sex. It's a second marriage for both her and her husband, which is intended to decrease angst over a "one and only" monogamous couple. When she broaches the subject with her husband, he brings up his past bad experiences when inadvertently hooking up with a married/cheating woman, and his main concern is "Never do that to me. If you feel the need for a fling, tell me first and just do it!" So, they turn it into a game to discover they can't find anyone better than their spouse, removing all doubts.
That sounds really interesting. Look forward to reading it, if I can find it since I don’t follow much in LW.

It's already live as "His Vixen".

If you read it, let me know what you think.

A sequel to that is being readied for the February Pink Orchid challenge, about another of the Book Club women who finds that her husband is cheating, and she's out for revenge.

Thanks, @StillStunned, for noting an old guy posting in a dead-end thread and turning him politely around. :)
Yeah, I did mean it to go here, so:

The Mike Hammer Event 2025 is up. Stories are due in July. I've started another noir private dick story set in NY's 1930s. So far about 9k of text.

It sets up like this:

Funny thing about a minx like Brandi—they don’t just walk into your life; they saunter in, draped in trouble and reeking of expensive perfume. Looking back, I should’ve known better the moment I saw her in that devil-red dress, lighting up the joint like a Roman candle. But hindsight’s a lousy drinking buddy—it always knows more than the guy holding the glass.

She had the place eating out of her hand, every pair of eyes peeling that velvet number off her like it was Christmas morning. I’d parked my bear-sized carcass at the bar, tucked in the shadows where the dim lights wouldn’t betray me. Not that it mattered. A dame like her, she knew when she was being watched. Hell, she probably thrived on it.

She glided through the crowd, laying hands on shoulders and offering those dazzling smiles. The kind of smile that made you feel like you were the only guy in the world—at least until the next poor sap caught her eye. And those saps were everywhere.

“Hey, gorgeous!” one grinned.

“Hi, doll, how’s your night going?” another crowed, trying to drink her in while his x-ray eyes wandered south of the border.

“Buy you a drink, Brandi?” the bartender chimed in, patting the stool beside him like it was a throne.

“Maybe later, darling,” she cooed, her voice as smooth as silk stockings. “I’m looking for my date. You know, a man who can keep me in minks.” She patted his arm, kissed his cheek, and left him smiling like he’d just won the lottery.

Yesterday was a fun and productive day at the keyboard. Looking forward to another.

I am finally diving into one of my dream projects, a big novel tentatively titled A Hollywood Life.

The premise is that in 2020, a young woman writer comes across the very explicit memoirs of her late great-aunt Molly Dawkins, who had been a well known film and television actress from the silent era until the seventies. The memoirs are sassy and gossipy and very explicit about Molly's love life. In addition to her personal story, Molly is full of opinions about movies, her co-workers, events in the news and society in general.

All of Molly's intimate memories will involve fictional characters, but plenty of famous people will appear in the story. Everything I write about them will be public knowledge (although often obscure anecdotes) and I do not intend to make comment on any living persons. One of the delights in this project is that my research has me diving deeply into a lot of wild Hollywood history.

This is, as I said, going to be a big one, and I will probably submit it in multiple chapters. I don't expect to have it ready before summer, at the earliest. I will likely take a few breaks to write some contest or challenge entries.

Here's a little early sample. Context: Molly has just described her first time seeing a movie, the silent comedy Tillie's Punctured Romance, starring Charlie Chaplin and Mabel Normand.

I met Mabel Normand once, more than ten years later. It was at a party at Leo McCarey’s house. Someone pointed her out to me. She was sitting by herself in a corner, reading the latest Edith Wharton novel.

I had been in Hollywood for about three years. I had met, acted and slept with some of the biggest stars in the world, but I was nervous as I approached her.

She looked up from her book, and I introduced myself. She smiled, but gave no indication she had any idea who I was.

I told her about seeing Tillie at the state fair, that it was the first movie I ever saw.

When she spoke, her voice was weak. “My god,” she said, “Did I inspire you to come to Hollywood?”

I told her that she had. After a brief coughing fit, she said, “I’m sorry.”

I'm working on the sequel to my recently published story, Backseat Loving with Mom. I don't usually do sequels, but I clearly set up the sequel at the end of the first story and there's a lot of demand for it in the comments, so what the heck. When that's done I'll work on my Valentine story (a BDSM story), and then my Pink Orchid story (my first lesbian sex story).

Just submitted a cute little short story called Finding Evelynn about a guy getting coerced into performing in an amateur night at a drag show. If you follow me at all, you'll know where this goes. :)

What I'm writing, though, is a story(working title; 'Just a Little Help from my Friends') about a guy coming to grips with his rather noticeable gynecomastia. Yeah, it goes the same place, so sue me. :ROFLMAO:

Another day, another 750-Word story for the event. A Fire Below (A 750-Word story about self-gratification).....

'To Train a Slut, First, Catch One' in 750 words. Pondering whether 1st or 2nd Person POV suits it best.

Currently fighting with the eighth volume of my Doc Vandal pulp adventure series (it's not here because there's no erotic content at all in the series), while trying to break through a serious case of writer's block.

Just published part 2 of my late bloomer lesbian series. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it would be a series when I published the first piece, and so I might need to republish it to add it to the series. Only 4 comments, so maybe not so painful to lose those.

Editing first draft of Valentine's Day story.

Might peck out a couple more 750 word stories this weekend.

Working an idea for a watersports fetish story.

If the system doesn't automatically create a series, you can do it manually.

Finally bit the bullet and wrote down a list of all my characters who encounter some of the others, and their respective ages and when they met others. The whole Kumquatverse slides about in time a bit, but I wanted to keep all the characters consistent in relation to each other.

Apart from one, where my head canon had been that Rachel's friend Bex and later, Ali's girlfriend Becca, were the same person, only they can't be (which is fine - they can be two similar people, one 5 years older than the other), it all stacks up well enough.

And I've finally answered the question as to whether two characters would have had to have met - but it works for Ellie to move to Yale (but not have met Bradley) just before Bradley comes from there to meet Ellie's best friends. Phew!

I can also use the document to track who's with who when, and other features - I've already had to work out why Richie got a nipple piercing again after previously saying he didn't like it and got rid...

Done a 750 in BDSM, though may edit a bit more in response to feedback. Working on my kinky scientists for Pink Orchid. Have an April Fool nearly done, though a beta reader thought it didn't work there but that opinion could change depending on how I wrote the missing bit. Valentine's is likely to get a miss this year.

I have a folder with about 6 unfinished wife travel stories. I picked one to polish and submit soon. Struggling with category choice now that I've read all the crap about LW trolls. Series inspired by real couple. She takes a trip or two each year and leaves hubby and kids behind. Some business some with tour group. Husband encourages this and revels in her describing in detail her erotic encounters on her return. They don't swing / share. He gets a charge out of her getting adventurous on the trips. She gets lurid satisfsction while away and loves his reaction when recounting it to him.

Sounds like LW or what? Are we on a Fetish track here? EC?
