I'd like to introduce you to literotica as it has been for at least 20 years now. Yeah pictures were costly and bandwidth heavy 25+ years ago.

If the owners wanted pictures done they would be gone tomorrow. As would 75% of the visitors. There must be some revenue in the visitors.

The vast majority of people who use Lit don't even know about the forums. The Admins are focused on the story side including the contests and running the website as a whole. The forum is a thorn in their side and they pay little attention to it, only acting on it a few days a month. That why it took so many years for the forum software to be upgraded and why the mobile version has all but been dropped. Even we Mods have a hard time getting replies from Admin because they generally seem not to care much about this side of the site.

But when they act, they remove pictures by the hundreds or thousands at a time, often entire folders posted by members and entire threads. A great many members have been removed from the site, or had their ability to post pictures revoked.

I see it in the Mod Logs I have access to, but often it's older stuff (even by a week or two) that doesn't seem apparent to members on a daily basis. Managing those threads and dealing with the multitude of violations takes a lot of time for everyone and it's all completelty unnecessary for a what is supposed to be a site based on literature, the written word.

If/when picture threads are wiped, most forum users don't even notice.
