Nothing against them personally, I've just never seen the need and am quite amused by the thought of being laid out on the post-mortem slab whenever my time comes and the attendants being like yeah, it's a rare one.

I did once have the urge to get the match.com username of a former gf inked over my heart, because it was unique, a Google bomb and my asking her about it got me the intro and date. Glad I didn't now because it didn't last

Haha... These days, when I see an NBA player without one single tattoo I regard him as something of a counter-culture Rebel, a tough-minded man who is NOT going to be swayed by peer pressure or fads. It's like I kinda respect him more. Weird. .

But I don't judge those who have them harshly. Indeed, many of the people in my life have them - inc. my wife.

Haha... These days, when I see an NBA player without one single tattoo I regard him as something of a counter cultural Rebel, a tough-minded man who is NOT going to be swayed by peer pressure or fads. It's like I kinda respect him more. Weird. .

But I don't judge those who have them harshly. Indeed, many of the people in my life (inc. my wife) have them.

Yeah. I'm old enough to remember when it was just bikers and services (mainly navy) folk that had them, and "civilians" getting one was a bit infra-dig and unclassy. Now it's like everyone does and not having any does feel countercultural.

Counterculture is cool though! Technically I now have a tattoo, but it is cosmetic and nobody would notice it anyway.

I’ll add to the sentiment above. Had uncles that had them from WWII. I always thought if I ever did get one, it’d be a military unit. Well, I was in the military, and don’t want any of my units on me! In my mind it’s still the territory of the military, Bikers, and all around bad-asses. At least those were the ones who got ink when I was growing up.

No disrespect to ink fans, but tats just look ugly to me. It seems like spray painting graffiti on your house, except uglier and more permanent. Also I love seeing women naked, and with ink they look less naked.
