Defunding Planned Parenthood Is a Matter of Life and Death for Black America

John Amanchukwu Sr. | December 27, 2024

Margaret Sanger, who subscribed to eugenics and founded Planned Parenthood in 1916, did so for the very purpose of exterminating black babies’ lives. In her exact words, Sanger wrote in a widely quoted letter to Dr. Clarence J. Gamble that she [did] “not want the word to go out that [she] want to exterminate the Negro population […]”

And by many accounts based on available data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Planned Parenthood has stayed in lockstep with its founding mission, as more black unborn babies are terminated, a term derived from “exterminate” at a 3-to-5 times higher rate than white and Hispanic babies.

The same study shows that 42% of all women who had abortions in 2021 were black, while 30% were white, 22% were Hispanic and 6% were of other races, based on data reported to the CDC about Washington, D.C., New York City, and 31 states.

Reichguide's days can be assessed by the volume of non story threads he makes. It has been a very very bad week for him.

Just more proof that Black lives don't matter, especially to the Black community.
You're right
Just not the way you think
Planned parenthood exists for people who need subsidies because they can't afford care.
Wanting to end that and take away affordable care and using abortion as the reason is the angle.

The African-American population will never be significantly reduced by abortion or birth control.

And it's long since time the anti-abortionists stopped using the entirely-ordinary-for-the-time racism and eugenics of Margaret Sanger as a stick to beat any post-1920s formation of Planned Parenthood.

As for Planned Parenthood:

While best known as a place where people can terminate an unwanted pregnancy, Planned Parenthood offers a variety of reproductive health services for women and men, including birth control, STD/STI screenings, pap smears, breast exams and other screenings that can catch cancer, fibrosis, or other major health concerns early on.

Planned Parenthood is often the only health care poor women (and likely poor trans men) receive, and the free or low cost exam is a moment to see a doctor and get basic tests that might indicate the need for more comprehensive care outside of the gynecological field.

Planned Parenthood has also provided basic "well care", "first aid", and "ongoing management" of such things as high blood pressure, diabetes sugar tests, and elder checkups in towns that have been struck by a disaster, such as New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Yes, she said that precisely because she knew people like you would say that was what she was after if she didn't spell out that it was not. The only thing she arguably got wrong was failing to anticipate that the Rightguides of the world would go right ahead and make that claim anyway.

ETA: We all know you are aware of exactly one thing Martin Luther King Jr. ever said, but he actually said a lot of other things in his career. One of those was expressing admiration for Sanger, not something he'd have done if there were any truth whatsoever to your claims.

So, according to you, she said something which she supposedly didn't believe, in order to promote an agenda, which accomplishes exactly what you say she didn't believe in? Because some future person would come along and quote her actual statement?

So, according to you, she said something <snip Derpy’s manufactured bullshit> Because some future person would come along and quote her actual statement?

🙄

Um, yeah, Derpy…

Sanger WAS concerned that someone WOULD take her words and actions out of context - just like they DID.

Hope that ^ helps.

👍

The proportion of abortions is not a black issue. It is a poverty related issue suffered by all races, it will continue to be so as long as America tolerates the largest population of poverty stricken people in the first world.

The "majority" of "Americans" just voted to tolerate it for at least four more years…

😑

Notice how the article doesn't actually break down services.prpvided by PP and instead just refers to increases and decreases of each? There's a reason and it's not intellectual honesty.
It has to do, more than anything else, with it being a National Review article.

Never, ever take those seriously.
