Can't find my original thread, but as we're heading into a new cycle, it's worth getting ready for the next season of "GOP Eating Itself".

Any bets on when they'll vacate the chair again?

Many are pissed but I don't see it right now.

Where in the House can thy find a more Trump-friendly speaker than Johnson?

The first time he fails to get something through that Trump wanted - even if he really tries - we'll have the answer to that. I doubt if it'll be too long.

Lol
Another vote for an unelected bureaucrat to lead the gubbment

Just to clarify, if Musk were to become the next speaker, he would not be second in line for succession to the presidency as he is a naturalized citizen and ineligible for the presidency of the usa. Should something untoward occur in that case, it would be the Senate President Pro-tempore, Democrat Patty Murray who would ascend to be the POTUS.

They will probably vacate the chair within hours. Government will shut down for a month and it will take weeks to get a new speaker. Unless, of course, The Fourth Branch of government, aka Elon Musk gets his way...

The law does not require a Speaker to be a government employee.
I was speaking about having a government employee that is elected.

Perhaps you care about representatives.accountable to the people....maybe not.

So he's supposed to keep his job by shutting down the government? There is something ill-conceived in this.
Ill-conceived yes, but not surprising. We are talking about a party that hates government and doesn't want it to work, after all.

I would venture to go out on a limb to say that the member here correctly but cavalierly stating that ANYONE could become speaker would have objections to Murray becoming president and would John Eastman a way to object the circumstances that would lead to her becoming president.

Mike is toast....the only question is when.....

When MAGA supporters start doing these posts, the writings on the wall. He had his chance, but he turned out to be as swamp as all the others and he needs to go.

Schumer, McConnell, Johnson, and Jeffries just got exposed. For 85 days, they secretly cooked up a $1.7 trillion spending bill, hoping to sneak it through just before the holidays. Johnson worked with Democrats and not a single member of his own party to kneecap President Trump. Meanwhile he spent time with Trump at Mar a Lago, the Army Navy game etc. and didn’t say a word about the 1,547 page abomination that he’s been working on for weeks. We already knen McConnell was a back-stabbing RINO traitor, but now, Et Tu, Mike?

He's finished.

Thank you, Elon Musk.
