There's no illegal settlements in the Golan Heights. Israel annexed them in 1981, they're now part of Israel, and in 2019, the USA recognized the Golan Heights as Israeli sovereign territory.

First of all Israel HAS expanded further into Syria, they have occupied the buffer zone that the Syrian army occupied until the regime collapsed. This is OLD news. The Druze communities in that sector have also petitioned the Israeli government to annex them into Israel, which may ultimately happen. The Jews and the Druze (see what I did there?) have a long standing mutually beneficial relationship.

As far as being "ominous", who's going to complain let alone do anything about it?

Just take a referendum among the Druze and based on the results, unilaterally adjust the border. Plus an additional buffer zone.

Actually the Druze did their own referendum before they petitioned the Israeli's.
