I think that Biden should consider clemency for all the January 6 minor criminals. I think that the prosecutions were justified in most cases and the sentences were light. However, I suspect that America has had enough and most people would support putting Jan 6 behind them and would prefer to look to the future.
It would be better if this were done by Biden rather than Trump; there are many arguments against such a move, but it is more important that America be given the opportunity to heal itself.
The new appointments suggested for both the DOJ and FBI will weaponize those institutions. Biden has an opportunity to head that off; a deeply unpopular move, but necessary.
