The Mask

All hallows eve
The day, the night
Put on my mask
Hide from the light

Look in the mirror
Dress to deceive
Where is the fear
Make them believe

A creature of sorrow
A pitiful soul
Ugly and scarred
The look of a troll

The party is starting
Not a costumed affair
But peace and contentment
Is the mask that I wear

Glad to see you stayed and played, also glad you found a tag line for your Av. :)
Thank you. I have also submitted a poem to Lit in the non-erotic category....but it's still pending.

And ... I saw that my avatar tag defaulted to "Literotica Guru"...or something like that. And I am so not a guru of anything, so finally figured out how to change it.

I was looking at your avatar and I like it. It appears you may have made it specifically for you?

Did NOT see the ending coming... you should turn this into a movie script.

I actually wrote it on Halloween Eve. Thank you for reading it @sirhugs ... I will start the process to move this to Lit's non-erotic area.

This is very relatable. Very.

I never thought I could be into a poem about halloween, but this is a super fun read! The simple rhymes lend it an almost nostalgic feel which mask (hehe) the slightly darker tone. I read a few of your others and this was my favorite that I stumbled across but I'm excited to see what else you write!

Is it just for Samhain we wear the mask, or is it the day we can be our true selves?
