Dredd Pirate Roberts had built himself a fearsome reputation in the Alpha Centauri Sectar of the Milky way of being a brutal and ruthless pirate. During one of his early exploits in his illustrious career, he had stolen an experimental cloaking device from a Centaurian Freighter and had maximized it's use, by being able to cloak and decloak at will. He had been able to literally appear within firing distance, then open fire on trade vessels, then when the defense forces tried to swoop in, would simply cloak back up and quietly slip away.
As a result, he and his small fleet of 6 other ships had been able to grow sickenly wealthy and powerful in the region. He had a number of colonial governors and even defense force officers under his thumb thanks to wealthy kick backs and favors owed him.
So when he woke up in his cabin on the SS Revenge, it was another typical Tuesday... as yet another trade ship had opted to avoid the warnings and threats of taking the space faring paths between Earth and Centauri...
Taking his seat at the Captain's seat a few minutes later, he said, "Excellent... excellent... move us in slow just off their bow.... prepare to raise shields and power up weapons..."
As his crew did as he commanded, he waited till they were in place and ready to go and then he said, "Good... now... open a channel to the ship."
