I like the current search functionality, and I think it would be a very nice enhancement to restrict results to only Stand Alone stories and Chapter 1s of multi-part stories. Often page 1 results are filled with later parts of long story chains.
As a site user who searches for stories, I usually don’t want to see results for multi-part stories after chapter 1, so I can start at the beginning and see fewer results overall.
I would guess finding the content is usually more desirable than limiting results, so this should probably not be the default setting.
