Happy birthday to Raymond Ian Burns (born 24 April 1954), known by the stage name Captain Sensible, is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter. He co-founded the punk rock band the Damned in 1976, originally playing bass before switching to guitar.

Yesterday, in 1976, the Ramones released their first record. Pretty much changed everything. 48 fuckin years ago!

The sex pistols didn’t want to admit, being influenced by them, but Sham69 and Cocksparrer had no problems admitting that this record was a huge influence on their sound.

Who invented punk rock will forever be a US versus England kind of thing. I don’t give a fuck. If it sounds good, I like it.
