Hello everybody,
first a Happy New Year 2022 to all of you! May it be more pleasant than the last one.
I am a German author and have pubished 60 stories at the german site of LIT. Most of them well were received by the readers and gained a H. Some are listed within the German Top 250 (which is not directly comparable, as there is only one tenth of storys available in German, compared to the English LIT).
For 2022 I decided to translate some of my best stories and to feed them to the „real“ world of LIT. I am rather fluent in English, but neither a native speaker nor a professional translator. I think I can produce a fairly appropriate translation by myself (using assets like DeepL etc. for help), but I´m sure there are some finer language points I´m unable to grab, like some grammar issues or especially idiomatic phrases, slang expressions and the like.
So I am looking for an editor to go through the text, ironing out unelegancies or incorrectly used phrases and expressions etc. The editor should come from the US, if possible. I am interested in learning as much as possible out of the cooperation process and would prefer an long term relationship. Of course this has to be established step by step, starting with one first story.
I do NOT expect a review of the translation itself, nor improvements for the plot and the story, nor a regular wording or spelling check (but any helps and hints are welcome, of course). My goal is to spruce up the text, so a native speaker is able to read it without raising the eyebrows at some spots because it sounds funny somehow.
My publications touch a wide range of categories, mainly „Anal“, „Erotic Couplings“, „Incest/Taboo“, „Longing Housewives“, „Mind Control“, „Exhibitionist/Voyeur“ and „NonHuman“. I am not into „BDSM“, „Fetish“, „Gay“ or „Interracial“. See my German profile for more info (look for „Dingo666“).
I have published a first story in English without the help of an editor, you may check „One Night Love“ („Anal“). It had a rating of 4,68 by the time these lines were written. So you can expect the raw material to be like this or even a little better, as I just started to retrain and repolish my English skills.
For a fist editored project I would like to use a „Incest/Taboo“ story called „Mother´s secred past life“. It contains 10.600 words and transports a classical mother-son-incident plot:
An 18 year old guy is condemned by his single mother to tidy up the long neglected basement. Deep into the old storages he finds a box containing a mysterious DVD. When he starts it there is a porn movie, starring his mother in younger years. At this point she comes back home and catches him watching the clip and masturbating. Some drama, and she confesses to have worked as an escort and pornstar earlier in her troubled life, needing the money. After some years she left this world for a harmless middle-class life, and hid herself to avoid recognization. Because of this she grew stiff and clam over time. He admits that he is still a virgin and has no experience with women whatsoever. Out of this they find together and share a sexual encounter. He collects his first experiences and grows on it, and his mother rediscovers her youthful self.
So you see, actually this is a deep charakter plot including finely chiselled psychological developments (coughing…).
If you are interested please give me a PM, I gladly will send you some pages of the story for a first impression. Vice versa I may offer a translation of your stories for the German site of LIT, if you are also a writer and if this is of some value for you.
