Sitting in the corner table beside the window, I look up vaguely people watching as I consider the next line of this memo. The quiet sounds of the small shop is the best backdrop. It’s owned by an older lesbian couple. Sharon wanted to open a bookstore that her ex pharma executive partner, TarA, said wouldn’t make a dime, but that she would invest in coffee shop. Together, they created a mini oasis where people can get lost in their cup of tea, a good book, or a great conversation. It’s my second home. I’ve met so many interesting people here….
