Justice League: Dark Future (OOC)

Consider this sort of a fusion between Batman Beyond and Injustice. In 2015, Joker tricked Superman into killing his pregnant wife, Lois Lane-Kent, by using a hallucinogenic compound. Driven mad with grief, Superman murdered Joker in cold blood, ripping his intestines out in a brutal fit of rage. He then gradually turned into an authoritarian dictator, overthrowing the world's largest governments to create his own One Earth Union.

It is now 2045, and people are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Union. In public, citizens are expected to display absolute loyalty to the government. But in secret, many despise the dictator. The Green Lantern Corps cannot openly interfere as Superman has forged strong alliances with Darkseid and the Reach, together creating a joint army that the Guardians aren't keen on going to war with. Luckily, there is a growing Resistance underground, led by an aging Batman and Lex Luthor.

For years, the Resistance has been scowering the planet for any traces of Kryptonite, but thus far is has appeared that Superman has already found and destroyed it all. With Bruce Wayne growing older and weaker with each passing day, he has now passed on the Cowl to Terry McGinnis, who I will be playing. As a secondary hero I will use Billy Batson/Shazam, with Black Adam, Blight, and Desaad as my villains for the first story arc. You can play both heroes and villains as well.

The Resistance has many hidden bases underground, surrounded by lead to block Superman's x-ray vision. Many of them are actually decoys, with only a handful being actively used. Their true main headquarters lies on the island of Themyscira, home of the Amazons. It is concealed in multiple layers of magical barriers and can keep even Superman out. Members of the Resistance can only access the island by Doctor Fate teleporting them there. Fate amplifies J'onn J'onzz's psychic reach to scan the minds of travelers before he teleports them onto the island.

Your characters can either be established members of the Resistance or Union, or you can be just now joining your faction. We'll discuss more details on the first story arc once we see who's all playing .

Name: Jessica Rayner

Sexual orientation: Mostly straight

Age: 18

History: In 2022, Green Lantern Kyle Rayner returned to Earth for a covert mission to gain intel on Superman's government. He spent four years on Earth before he was discovered by Superman's agents. Kyle narrowly escaped from Earth with his life. In the time he spent on Earth he met a woman, and unknowingly left her with a daughter.

Jessica grew up with her mother telling her stories about how Earth used to be. She loved to hear stories about the heroes, especially her father and the Green Lantern Corps. One day when she was six, while trying to reenact stories about her father, Jessica discovered her powers. Kyle had been bonded with the entity Ion when Jessica was conceived, and some of the beings power was transferred to her. She spent the next few years learning to use her powers in secret. When Jessica was 13 she used her powers to save a school bus that had run off the road. Superman's agents learned of this and traced the incident back to Jessica. When Superman's agents kicked in her door, Jessica's mother surrendered herself to them, claiming she was the one with the power. Jessica watched soldiers wearing Superman's shield slaughter her mother right before her eyes. She vowed to take down Superman then and there, and has spent the last five years of her life doing just that. Jessica has worked in secret for the past few years, but after a botched mission, rumors of a Green Lantern on Earth have reached the ears of Superman, and The Resistance.

Physical Appearance: Jessica is surprisingly thick for a superhero. She has pale white skin, long brown hair, and dark green eyes. When she uses her powers her eyes turn to a solid white-green color.

Powers/Abilities: Because she was conceived when her father was host to Ion, she inherited some of the entity's power. She has all of the abilities a power ring would grant her, without actually having to use a ring.

Gear/Equipment: Because she is lacking a ring, Jessica doesn't have a Green Lantern uniform. So she made her own. She also uses a decoy ring, so she appears to be a full fledged Green Lantern. She hopes her actions as a "Green Lantern" will eventually reach her father and bring him back to Earth.
