The Biden administration involved itself in the raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home despite reports that its officials were "stunned" to find out about the news on social media, according to the group America First Legal, which obtained internal government documents related to the raid through a Freedom of Information Act request.

"The evidence further suggests that Biden officials in the Executive Office of the President and the Department of Justice unlawfully abused their power and then lied about it to the American people," said Reed D. Rubinstein, America First Legal senior counselor and director of oversight and investigations, in a post on social media Tuesday. "This government, it seems, acknowledges no limits on its power to harass, intimidate, and silence its political opponents."

Rubinstein's comments come after a Freedom of Information Act request by America First Legal found the FBI initially obtained access to Trump records through a "special access request" from the Biden White House.

The new information confirms Fox News reporting from August, when NARA acting head Debra Wall wrote a letter to Trump's attorney alluding to the administration's involvement.

I think we all very clearly remember Kayleigh McEnany making that promise. Like virtually everyone else in that administration, she did not keep that promise. Without a doubt, 45’s was indeed the most untrustworthy administration in history. It started on day one when the “largest crowd in history” attended the Twittiot’s inauguration. That was really all anyone with a brain needed to know to see how “untrustworthy” the Trump administration would be.

CLAIM: During Monday’s White House presser Karin Jean-Pierre claimed the 1994 “assault weapons” ban brought crime down in America.

VERDICT: False.

A 2004 report by the Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ) demonstrated that researchers could not credit the “assault weapons” ban with any of the reductions in crime or shootings which were sporadically reported elsewhere.

The Washington Times quoted University of Pennsylvania professor Christopher Koper, author of the DOJ’s NIJ report, saying, “We cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation’s recent drop in gun violence. And, indeed, there has been no discernible reduction in the lethality and injuriousness of gun violence.” The NIJ report continued, “The ban’s effects on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement.” The NIJ report put matters into perspective by pointing out “assault weapons” were “rarely used in gun crimes even before the ban.”

Year after year Breitbart News has pointed to FBI uniform crime report numbers showing far more people are stabbed or hacked to death than are killed with rifles of any kind.
