Here's a theory: categories hinder more than help

Is there a dedicated section for "writing erotica or flagrant cojones to the wall porn for pay". I haven't spotted one yet. About 15 years ago a Los Angeles publisher wanted to pick up a 5000-word yarn of mine for US$50, which is less than Anais Nin earned per word in Paris almost a century ago. Indeed, the Montreal Gazette back in the 60s, paid CAD$25 for a 600-word book review and one got to keep the book. Naturally I didn't sell to the LA publisher though they may well have stolen it. No idea. Anyway, I am not hopeful. However, any suggestions would be welcome. I'm fine with going do2wn rabbit holes . . . etc
No. Plenty of writers do commissions, but there's no go-to thread. Probably best to put something up in the Authors Hangout, or maybe Story Ideas or How To. You'll need to pitch your content desirements, but leave any commercial arrangements off site. You might find someone willing to write for nothing, if your ideas align with theirs. You'll get what you pay for, quality wise...

This is a free-use site. Why should it allow advertising for paid work outside of the site's file?

I looked at smashwords and it seems pretty awful. Basically like literotica stories, except the search function is useless and you have to pay for the stories. Well ok there are non-erotica texts there too, but the same issues apply.

For which folks should be grateful. That's not as blatant as directly advertising about paid work away from Lit. on Lit.

I look at this a little differently. While it may seem like Literotica is strangely allowing its authors to advertise competition, I think the reality is that it gets value by offering value. Consider your example. To some degree you use Literotica as a platform to advertise the fact that you publish elsewhere. Lit lets you, and others, do this. So it makes Lit an attractive, free platform for authors to do so, and it incentivizes authors to use it to do this. Does this meaningfully take away any Lit business? I doubt it, because Lit is free anyway. Plus, for your readers looking for KeithD stories, Lit is a great, free platform to begin a search for your stories. If it ultimately leads them to other sites, I doubt that it in any meaningful way competes with, or hurts, Literotica. It's just value-added for everyone.
