And the food? Well, kinda the same. Not too fussy. Seasonal. Global. Good for the soul.

I'm starting out as a solo endeavor. But, I'd love to find a content partner. Someone with a passion for passion. A passion for food. And a passion for pics and videos. We'll be partners on camera and online. In real life, I already have my person. Maybe you already have yours, too. We can be partners and still have our real life partners. We'll work it out.

Lemon cake with buttercream frosting

This was a cake I was commissioned to bake for a birthday party. It started out as a Lemon Meringue Cake, but I needed to change the frosting to German buttercream so I could decorate the Red Sox logo.

The sponge is infused with a lemon syrup. There are three sponges layered with lemon curd. The German buttercream is a rich-but-not-sweet frosting. So, the sweet and tart were perfectly balanced.

The client was happy and that's what matters most!

Santa's Workshop

I spent part of the weekend making Christmas presents. The shop is a little chilly, so I like to wear a flannel shirt.

I used to have a penis-shaped cake pan. Does that count, lol? It was great for making “penis cakes”, especially for bachelorette parties.

These tasty buns are called "conchas" (Spanish for "shells") or more generically "pan dulce" (Spanish for "sweet bread"). I used a sourdough recipe for the buns and the topping from King Arthur Flour because I like it better.

You can typically find conchas in your local Mexican grocery store or bakery - although I think they're so much better home made. They're wonderful for breakfast or any time of the day.

I made these for el día de los muertos (day of the dead) - which takes place on November 1st and 2nd. But you can make them any time of the year!
