The question of, let's say, acceptable male types, is interesting me more and more.

In my current story, "Pipit," I have an anti-heroine (your lovely phrase, LC--see the "Unpleasant Characters" thread, which is still going on) who victimizes people for reasons that gradually become clear--let's say it feeds into her kink.

Interestingly, though, what's drawing the most negative comment is the treatment of the male character, a "Dominant" who's young, naive, and quite unable to resist a pretty woman who offers herself to him, even if it's obviously a bad idea to sleep with her. In other words, he has weaknesses that more than a few men have been known to have!

Of course, he is falling under the spell of the anti-heroine--I am not a plot-construction genius (in fact I'm ripping off Othello for much of the plotline, with Pipit as a gender-switched Iago). Trouble is, this is a BDSM story, and a Dominant is supposed to be all-wise and near infallible in guiding his adoring submissives.

So the story is drawing a fair amount of negative comment (including rage, e.g. "No stars as even giving this one star would be an insult to the star"). And my poor Othello isn't even deep in trouble yet! I've taken to advising readers who don't like him so far not to read on, because they're sure to hate him, and me, soon.

Women are creatures of such complexity that the only feasible way of characterizing them properly is breaking them down in manageable sections. The chest area being one...
