...what?

Can I ask what makes people write alternate takes to this story when it has literally been done dozens of times? I am serious, there is not one plot thread that has been missed or unexplored. What is it about that ridiculous story that makes people feel "oh my God I just HAVE to add to that catalogue" and George, if you happen to read this. Can you stop authorizing requests? It was amusing at first but Jesus how many times do we have to see it?

Yeah I know, I don't have to read them. I try to ignore them but Jesus it's like multiple every single day. These writers are worse than Hollywood. They don't have original ideas either.

Okay rant off. I am sorry if I offended you all. Not the people who perpetuate this but those who are more forgiving and tolerant than I.
it's not the only thing that's. over represented on here, there's way to many cuckolding stores.
wouldn.t be to bad if it wasn't the same old, same old.story line.guy has a very small dick
wives come home and tells him about the big cock her lover has ............be nice to see someone who
think's outside the box for once.

OK straight to the point! If "FEBRUARY" sucks I was wondering about everything beforehand as in another viewpoint "or if you want a
"spin-off" to February sucks stories. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the stories I am still trying to catch up with them. Everything that happened in February had to get started in January first.... IDK I'm just rambling now....

Wasn't the whole point of the story that the wife could abandon her husband without any warning, buildup, or logical reason?
Yes for February sucks. I not saying "What about January" needs to be about those sets of characters that are in the February storyline. Heck it could be another couple that was in the restaurant at the moment of Mark's.... Or even some other past victim or victims leading up to February....

I haven't read February Sucks. I've only read parts of this thread.

It is -- or it should be -- very clear what is the appeal of such stories. And why people are rewriting such stories.

It seems to me February Sucks is a very powerful humiliation fantasy. Imagine that. During a very special evening for you and your wife, when you go out and celebrate/reaffirm your marriage, when she puts her best dress, etc, she leaves for a footballer -- to have casual sex. What could be worse than that? Her telling you she had the best sex ever?

Why do people like humiliation fantasies? It's a question important enough that many tried to answer. There are many academic papers about it.

Which the wife in the original FS did. Along with constantly reminding her husband of that fact, attempting to emotionally manipulate him into accepting it, and finally getting off scot-free because the family lawyer (who claimed to also be a long-term friend of the family) conspired to turn it all around on him.

That's the reason there are so many alternative versions. Because the original is infuriatingly bad. It makes no goddamn sense. And I'm not complaining about the story not catering to my personal preferences. I mean that it logically makes no sense.

Dang it! The story it's kind of long.
I was bored when I got to the fourth page. But finished it nonetheless. Speed reading.

A lot of comments like this one:

I read this a while back and it bothered me...a lot

My mind is blank. I don't feel anything. It's very cliche.

I rated it three stars: Average.

My opinion is its the ups and downs mixed emotions of the readers that authors are trying to project

I agree completely. The sad thing is, it is written very well. It's the best-written lousy story, ever.

The story that I've read has eight lit pages. The "action" is over on page two. There are six more pages trailing that. Sorry ass "psychological" distress, etc. The lawyer subplot is simply uninteresting.

Now, it's not that the first two pages were exactly riveting.

Could anyone offer a take on which among these are like, the good ones

Like which have genuinely interesting riff on the concept, or even which have particularly solid pacing and writing quality. Whatever your personal criteria is for 'notable good'

A request for whoever feels like they have the expertise to answer:

Could anyone offer a take on which among these are like, the good ones

3,5, 9, 12, 13, 49, 51, 54, 58, 63, 71, 78, 83, 86, 103, 114, 115, 127-129, 132, 134, 138, 140 I might have read if it's the one am thinking then yes good, 141 is on my plan to read list,
142 these are the ones that I have read and enjoyed reading some I even read more then once

The vast majority deviate wildly from the original story at some point, usually either when Marc (the football player) comes to the table or right after Linda (the wife) left with him.
I noticed that ...it was strange how people basically just ignored canonical facts to go off on tangents in a sequel ....one even rewrote almost the entire original story ....it was all pretty fucking bonkers if you ask me.
And why?
Because George's invitation to continue was like waving the proverbial red flag to a whole herd of BTB bulls .....cue mass stampede. It was cleverly written like Nici's story all those years ago ....It pushed all their buttons.

As entertainment it's been stellar ....

doesn't make sense!!!!!!
Sorry but that would include 90% of what's written on Literotica.....
It's fiction, it doesn't have to make sense....
It's not real, was probably never meant to be.
It doesn't matter which category you delve into. It would be full of nonsense... Fiction... Fantasies... Weird thoughts.
These stories are simply that.

Quite right. But you have to admire the passion this story has inspired! So much outrage and effort from other writers who had to put their stamp on it. Over 150 stories! I'll admit to being emotional myself when I read it. It plays out like one long nightmare. The Kobiashi Maru/worst-case scenario for any married man. And like a million other readers, my reaction would have been to change the locks. "Don't even bother coming home. I hope it was worth it."

But that emotional response was the writer's goal, without a doubt. A very successful story.

It's not about the story making sense or not. I'd venture there isn't a single story in the I/T category that makes sense by real-world standards. The difference comes from the reaction a story provokes. And, in the case of February Sucks, it causes readers to get so angry they feel the urge to "fix" the story.

I'd even think it's entirely possible that this is the number one reason for the various BTB stories in the LW category. People reading Cuckolding and Cheating stories, getting a hate-boner over them, and feeling the urge to tell people how a satisfying story should look like.

I can't imagine how insecure a man has to be, or how hateful towards women someone has to be to be so incensed by a make-believe husband who has a make-believe wife who cheats and decided to reconcile and continue his make-believe marriage that you have to write it the way it 'should be written.'

And beyond the cold male insecurity and irrational anger, I can't shake off the sheer hubris of people to think they, not the author, know better how the story should end.

I also think that many of these same people are from the school of if the husband cheated, then of course the wife should take him back because that's how it was for a long time and always should be. Reverse this story and have the husband cheat and wife takes him back and see if we have this "wahhhhhh, I don't like it, I need to fix this" situation.

I'll toss in how-as Blackrandi pointed out-many of these were written before the author gave permission and this is a crowd of all around winners.

These people have the story equivalent of TDS.
