Hi fellow Playgrounders, I need your help! I'm in training for a triathlon and I'm looking for good workout music to add to my iPod. I've got lots of good songs now, but I think it's time to shake things up a little bit and add some new blood. I'm looking for songs with driving beats that get you pumped up and help you train hard.

So how about it? What songs fire you up for a good workout?

It's got to have a fast steady beat. A favorite of mine is Twilight Zone by golden earring Pendulum also does some great workout tunes

I just looked them up and I like them. Thanks for the suggestions, Twisted!

I have a lot of Metallica on my mp3. AC-DC too..Symphony X, Godsmack, Kamelot, Black Sabbath, Ozzie, Queensryche, Avantasia, Iron Maiden, Stone Temple Pilots..I prefer hard driving music when I lift or hit the treadmill. I also have bands such as:

Testament

Pantera

Volbeat

IMO...its hard to beat early Metallica for great workout music.

Thanks for the great suggestions and links. I'm with you - I have a lot of Metallica and AC/DC too. This is all great stuff.

The Who, some Led Zeppelin tracks, another vote for Aerosmith, and Radar Love by Golden Earring :)

coming from a dance background.. I'm going to throw Mickey Hart's Planet Drum into the mix.

I've got a workout playlist that has sixty songs on it.

One of them is especially motivating:

Haha, great suggestion! It really has that get up and go quality to it, doesn't it?

I've got The Who, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. I haven't heard Golden Earring before, but because of this thread I've looked them up and I like it!

Thanks Gigg! That's got a nice groove!

Ooooh... another music thread. ;) :p. And some great music to add to my workout list.

It depends on what I'm doing - but I usually look for something with a steady, driving beat. If I'm hitting the cardio machines then Aerosmith (particularly Dude Looks Like a Lady, Rag Doll and Love in an Elevator); Guns 'n' Roses (Paradise City); Lou Bega (Mambo #5); Moby (Bodyrock, Herran, Machete, Oil-1), Underworld (Born. Slippy Nuxx); Rage Against the Machine (Wake Up) or Daft Punk (Technologique).

If I'm lifting weights - which I really should start doing again:rolleyes: - then same thing but not as pulsing as my cardio. So, The Shiny Toy Guns' Major Tom; Foo Fighter's (My Hero); Moby (usually the same as above); Underworld (Pearl's Girl); Photek (The Seven Samurai) and Lady GaGa (Bad Romance, Telephone or Born This Way). Actually, if I want a milder cardio, then I'd use this list.

Um...theres no metallica or even hardly any metal on there...try again.

Chemical Brothers, Kernkraft 400 Sport Chant (soccer chant hidden inside ;)), Muse, Rise Against, System of a Down, Disturbed and Britany Spears. :p They all pretty much kickass.....except for one. :D

I have found that I just like to throw on my quick mix on my Pandora on my phone and it feeds me loveliness

Hi Miles :)

Love the name by the way :)

This is the music I like in the background when I'm making out or even during masturbation...

Walking On Air ~ Jose Padilla

There is an extended version lasting up to 28 minutes I have on CD :)

I go back to the 90's to some of the "club" music...

Another night (another dream) - Real McCoy
Be my lover - LaBouche
Where do you go - No Mercy
Rhythm is a dancer - Snap!

Some fantastic music there Sensualdreamer :):rose:

When I run, it's usually to a mix of faster rock/dance songs and/or "angry" music. My playlist is mainly Linkin Park, Prodigy, Breaking Benjamin, and Theory of a Deadman.

Miles Long...

May I offer you advice. The music you need for exercising is the same as the kind you relax to. It has something to do with hormones and it helps you get the best out of training. Anything too fast can push you to exhaustion apparently...

Can anyone confirm that?

It probably dates me, but I put on vh1's jump start when I workout every morning. It's my pop music guilty pleasure time. Mike and mike on commercials.
