Darwin City [Justice League, X-men, DC & Marvel] OOC

This is an Amalgamated based thread....which means that its part Marvel and Part DC. I think of it as similar to Smallville.

The Characters will be students at Darwin City University, a brilliant campus, run by Proffessor Hugo Osborne, who just also happens to be a criminal mastermind. The heroes end up forming a sort of unofficial team, working togethor to stop the various crazies and super-powered criminals that keep running around. In their human identities (which are more or less secret at the start) they hardly hang around with each other, though it would be cool if some were actually friends before uni and already knew of each others powers.

CHARACTER CREATION:
1 - Choose a DC character
2 - Choose a Marvel character
3 - Combine the 2 in anyway you want.
4 - Tweak them so that they are aged between 18 and 22, and at the university.
5 - Dumb down their powers at least a little bit.
6 - Post a bio on here for me to approve
7 - I approve and your done!

NOTE: Don't use choose characters for you amalgamations that have already being used.

I have a question though...
In their human forms are they like in the basic stereotypical groups such as nerd, jock, cheerleader, etc..?

NAME: Charles 'Charlie' Pryde
BASES: Question, Shadowcat (Partially Gambit as well)
ALIAS: He has none
POWERS: He can cast what can only be described as an appearance spell, as well as having the ability to Phase through objects. This also makes him almost undetectable telepathically.

The Appearance spell has the following affects: His face vanishes, though he can still speak, smell and see, though it appears he has no such way of doing so. It also causes his hair to change to a black colour (different to his usual brown hair) as well as raising his height by 5 inches. Luckily this also causes his DNA to appear differently as well as hiding his finger prints, making him a true ghost.

OTHER: An orphan, Charlie lived in an orphanage until he was old enough to go to university, living off the money his parents left him, he studies journalism, is slightly paranoid and is extremely capable of fighting with staff and poles. He comes across as a jock, as he takes part in the Triathlete team, but in reality he more of a recluse.

Military School Brat
Powers: Green Lantern Ring (which he's still learning), Combined with gamma charged cells.

As Jordan he has the powers of the ring at his disposal which is largely anything he can create and is as strong as his willpower. He is a genius, who graduated high school years early and who became a pet military test pilot. He has shown aptitude in almost everything he applies himself too, and is an emerging expert in the field of Gamma Radiation. His hobbies include flight simulations and computer work and he helped design the latest stealth technology simulators.

As the Hulk he has Nigh Limitless Strength, and Endurance. And the Ring functions of his own Gamma Charged self, slowly draining away pieces of him till there will be nothing left but a ravening beast, doomed to destroy the world.

So logically he tries to not let that happen.

As the Amalgamated Green Guardian he has control over the ring but in Limited Constructs only and each creation takes more than it would normally if he were simply Jordan. He has tremendous physical strength and endurance which can be amplified through use of the Ring but normally could toss a Semi trailer with ease and withstand howitzer shells.


History: At the age of 15 Jordan graduated high school, and enlisted to a program in Randolph, Texas where his creative imagination and keen intellect, were put to test with his hand eye co-ordination, to help create a new training simulator for as yet untested stealth and speed technologies, in conjunction with Air Force Cyber Command in Barksdale Louisiana. However during a live run of the prototype plane an accident occurred with it's Gamma powered (engine?), causing a malfunction and a loss of plane from all known forms of surveillance for three seconds. The aircraft was never fully recovered though pieces of it were. It is assumed a failed mission and Banner was debriefed and given a discharge with a muffle order to never speak of any of what occurred to anyone for any reason.

Secretly Jordan was plucked from his Death by the Oans, Guardians of the known universe and given a Green lantern and a ring, only told that it would help him protect his world and that it was the most powerful weapon imaginable. That they had saved his life for a higher purpose. And that something else was awoken inside of him, a beast that the ring would help contain, and that he must keep locked up forever. So was his task and unending vigil.

Now Jordan is a civilian with no military contact at all, just a free university trip courtesy of Uncle Sam.

Personality: Jordan is a bit of a nerd actually. Just a tall rugged nerd. He practices a lot of calming techniques and relies a lot on size and rumour to keep him out of trouble. Not a lot is known about him other than he he has a golden ticket and he has no family at all.

Powers: Simon Allen is the fastest man alive, as invulnerable as they come, and has a strength level to rival the Hulk or Superman.

History: Simon was a scholar athlete at the private high school he attended, and the clumsiest guy around. He lettered in football, baseball and wrestling but he wasn't good enough to get a scholarship for any of them. Simon was valedictorian of his class, taking enough AP classes to do a year and a half of college his senior year of high school. He focused in Sciences and mathematics, but did quite well in humanities too. Senior year he tried out for the senior class play and landed the role of Danny Zucko in Grease.

Simon probably would have been homecoming king and Student body president if he wasn't falling over everything in sight. He got picked on for being a klutz. When he was paying attention he did fine, but Simon had a tendency to let his mind wander and tripped and fell fairly frequently, in and out of school. Ironically he was quite graceful, when he was paying attention, and nailed the dance scenes in Grease.

Simon comes from a fairly wealthy family. His father founded Allen Technologies a research and development company that builds weapons for the government and funds many scientific research projects simply for the sake of research. Mr. Allen was a fair engineer but has a wicked business sense and has built a large corporation that is still making a name for itself.

Simon's life changed this spring when he was visiting his father at work. There was an explosion in the temporal physics lab. Simon got caught in the blast and blown into a lab that was working on a military project using ionic rays to increase strength in animals.

When he woke up Simon was in the hospital, his injuries had healed. He discovered his speed first when he rocketed down the hallway to get a soda from the Coke machine. Over time Simon has found out about the rest of his abilities and has managed to keep his identity a secret.

Simon's first reaction when he found his abilities was to fashion a costume to conceal his identity; albeit the costume was simply a red hoodie sweater with reflective sunglasses and gloves to cover his fingerprints. Over the summer Simon has stopped bank robberies, saved people from natural disasters and regularly helps out at traffic accidents and fires and anywhere an EMT might be. The world at large knows him for his speed, not his superstrength and invulnerability. While the Speed Demon has been known to rip doors off cars to get people out from inside, no one has any reason to assume his strength level is beyond that.

The name Speed Demon was given to him by the media (maybe Lois Lane?) and Simon hasn't changed his attire to reflect that. He does not give interviews and when emergency response personnel ask him who he is Simon usually answers, "Just somebody trying to help."

At college Simon has decided to give up sports as it wouldn't be fair to the other kids competing. His official answer if someone asks him why he doesn't play sports anymore is that he's at school to get an education so he can work for his father and make the world a better place.

Simon is surprisingly popular, though not in a classical sense. He's not 'in with the IN crowd' but he gets along fine with them. He's in classes with a lot of geeks, but he's not a geek himself. He's not a part of any particular group, but he's not an outcast. Because Simon values people for who they are and treats people with respect everyone finds him pleasant to talk with. However, people need to make the effort to talk to him, Simon is just as content reading a book as he is talking to people.

Simon does come from money, and since his father's business is growing exponentially there are a lot of other people interested in talking to Mr. Allen. So Simon has probably met other rich kids at the school during networking/social events of the elite. Weddings, cattilions, balls, charity dinners, that sort of thing.

Simon enjoyed being in Grease so he is taking a drama class and will try out for a play if there is one.

Personality: Simon has always been rather quiet. He's not particularly shy but he keeps to himself. He is pleasant to talk to and always has a kind word for everyone. He is particularly determined and often sees what other kids do as a frivolous waste of time, but he figures that's their business and if they're happy then he's happy for them.

MeiohSetsuna; You would have to dumb down the powers as i want nobody stronger than chronie's character. But yeah, that wud be cool, though you'd have to make them human, or find them a legit way of being at an earth based university...

What do you mean 'remove the ionic power bit' ? All of Wonder Man's abilities come from his exposure to specific ionic rays. Do you want me to get rid of Wonder Man's powers entirely? Do you want me to take out the line "Unknown to Simon he is now a being of temporal/ionic energy, similar to Wonder Man" ? Do you want me to tone down on the super strength?

I'm more then happy to make adjustments to fit into your story, after all, it is your story. I do need some clarification before I make those adjustments though, so I can do what you want me to do.

Sort of. If it gets that far. Ring has a 24 hour charge. Every morning he recharges the sucker with the green lantern. So say he's just Jordan. 24 hours of use. That doesn't mean 6 am fly for 15 minutes and 6 am next day it's done, it means he has 24 hours of use out of it. But he'll still recharge it each morning.

If he Hulks out a little, and does the green guardian change Ring now has a 2 Hour battery. It takes that much of his control to keep from going Hulk Smash!

After that the ring will function but he won't be as creative or useful, He'll Be THE HULK. Stronger More durable, and prone to getting angrier. So now the Ring will do what it can to take him down itself, and attempt to kill him. Protecting the earth and all. But the gamma charged cells he has are resistant to being drained. I just wanted the danger of Flying off the handle to be worse than whatever may cause him to. Forces me to think more and use energy and abilities sparingly, Instead of say creating a dreadnought class 120 tonne battleship out of thin air, and then throwing it at mach chicken all guns blazing at someone. such things should be last resort use against Darkseid only kind of shit.

Well considering the fact that the Silver Surfer has the ability to change world's into something like glass, I'm pretty sure the silver surfer part of my character would be able to disguise herself as human.
However;
I decided to drop out. I feel, like if I play a down-powered Lobo/ Surfer, then that's just not fair to the actual character's themselves.
Also, it wouldn't be fair to just have chronicle_tenko have all the "high-power" fun, now would it?
