Yes I want to talk some thing about personals. [I made the thread yesterday too, but it was deleted]

they started military crackdown on personal ad. and started removing the 'chat/irrelevant posts' from the personals.
Some examples:

1. OP asks "where are all the players tonight?" a guy replies "may be they're all asleep" .. and it gets deleted.

2. one guy had posted in my personal thread "I've subscribed to your thread...."
and they removed his posts too.

Now if they deleted it as deleted as 'chat' post
then I see a lot threads and posts having same type of thing in personals,
they are not deleted, but only of a few members only.
some people
are just out to settle their personal scores and take sides of their cartel members,
and nothing can or should prevent
them misusing the power they are given.
cause there is no
Democratic control over the appointed executive,
like a military crackdown on some third world country, against the people who don't like the dictator.
funny thing is
on the top side of the website its written "Free Speech"

The latest example of anti-Simpson activism comes from Venezuela, where president Hugo Chavez has just banned the TV show and kicked it off the air.

The truly funny part however is that the 11am time slot when the sitcom was broadcast has been filled with "Baywatch Hawaii".

Tandoor... Colton is mad at me because I cleaned up the personals and deleted a post that was a direct insult against me. He is originally angry with me as a mod because I took issue with him originally by posting a response to him when he called the mods of this forum "lazy". That post was deleted by another mod but Colton assumed I did it and then insulted me in another post. He thinks I have massive climax's form deleting his stuff. And of course he is even more angry with me because he wanted to be a mod but "they picked Calvin instead" (his words).
Just a person who does not understand many things and is a casualty of the GB. Just read his AV to see where he really is.
Anyway... Mr. General reporting for duty.... lol.

why did you delete a guy's post in my personal ad. thread .. in which he had said "I've subscribed to your thread"

and if you are so enthusiastic active rule following modertator, why don't you show the same spirit in
other people's personal ad...where so many people are chatting on 'other stuff'??

because it was chat in a personals thread and was not relevant to the op's post... it has been going on for a long, long time in the personals ... long before you even came to Lit and long before I became a Mod... I do hope now that I have taken the time to explain it to you that you will drop the matter. Even though we have had this discussion before.

As for your second question, I don't know if you realize it, but we don't get paid for what we do here... in fact, it is a total voluntary position. You may, but I don't have 8 or 10 hours a day to filter through everything. We will be working on all of them. But on the other hand, there has not been anybody that has been as hostile as you and KB for a long time (yes KB... I know your monitoring this).

So the bottom line is... go for it guys... make as much noise as you want.... I don't care. I have attempted to talk decently with both of you and all you have done is call me names and be angry. So be it... here it is for all to read and absorb. That's what you want anyway... to try to create a scene and create a revolt. I am truly sorry that you do not seem to understand why some things are done here in the forums but I have learned a long time ago you can't reason with an angry man... so nothing I say will change it.... because of your anger.

I understand that, but if you don't have time to filter everything, then why do you selectively choose us to filter? I see a lot posts in active threads of personals right now, which are violating the norms.'chatting outside the context of ad'...why are you not deleting it but showing active enthusiasm in our case?

in all the area/location specific personal threads .. there are people chatting.? why not show some upright moderatorship there?

That is not an actual reply to a personal ad, that's why. That type of post is perfectly suited for any other board on Lit.

Unless, of course, you're gay or bi and you two are "hitting it off" personally now? lol




i don't know how many times it has to be stated, but non personal ad posts will always be removed from ads!! Just like, depending on the nature of the ad, "chat" posts will be moved to an appropriate board. And/or if an ad took a drastic turn away from the AD PURPOSE and has become nothing more than "hi how are ya?" it'll be moved to the appropriate chat board.

yes so true Koalabear... you are right, being a normal human being, there are many things I do not understand... and you are one of them clearly. All the hatred and insults you have directed at me lately because you lost one post out of 42,000. And of course you had lost many, many more before that but never said a word.

The only thing you are wrong about is me being a casualty of the GB... very seldom ever go there and the times I have I don't say much. Don't really like the place.

As for the "eyes", everything gets watched... that's what moderators do (we never sleep)....lol
