Oh well. Without going into details, I lost my job today. :(

At least it didn't happen *after* I bought a house.

That's life in the big city.

Sorry doesn't say enough. I know all too well what it feels like to be canned without warning.

Hopefully you got some kind of severance.

Shitty life events come and go. Don't let it make you lose your edge.:rose:

i'm so sorry, heretic. i hope something bigger and better comes along tomorrow.

Damn.

And I was all set to tease you about changing your mind on the house buying again. :(

Well, you've been down this road before and you know the drill. This time you're in a much better starting spot than last time, you actually have a cushion to help you through the unemployment (even if it WAS earmarked for a house...) Good luck with the job search.

Yikes. They could at least have had the decency to do that on a Monday morning.

Maybe this will prove a good time to think about starting your own business. I'm toying with that idea myself after having been laid off in October.

Of course, I really want the details, but respect your privacy to not share...

I'm sorry. Good luck in the next search...

I know how hard it is to get fired. Hopefully you can find a new job soon.

Ah, Heretic, I'm very sorry to hear this. I'm sure you'll find another job very soon. I imagine any company would be very pleased to have you on board.

What did you expect to happen, what with you spending hours and hours at work surfing porn sites like Literotica?

Fucking moron.

You got exactly what you deserved.

If you were willing to relocate to NYC I bet my employers would hire you in a heartbeat!

Yeah I got severance, etc - and at least they waited until after Xmas. The thing is that it *was* without warning. I am still waiting for more info to filter back on who got laid off and why - without going into details it was a large layoff and very targeted at the technical side of the company, no sales, no marketing, no admin.

That said, I have to put that behind me and move on - it isn't good to dwell on history like that if you want to be able to move on.

Ouch. Sorry man. They don't like Lit on company time or something?

For the most part I did not visit Lit. on company time - certainly not from the company network. And it was a good size layoff - not just me - it had nothing to do with my performance. I recently had a good performance rating and a raise.
