Picture Posting Guidelines Reminder. Please Read Before Posting. UPDATED.

UPDATE: I've sent some PMs to some people recently, asking them to remove hardcore pictures from their threads. TO clarify, and so that no one can say they are surprised, this is how the new procedure will work: I will check threads randomly and periodically. If there are image in your thread that are breaking the rules, I will send you a PM, and CC sweetvee on it, asking you to remove the offending pictures from your thread. If you ignore the PM and do not remove the images, I will delete the entire thread. I'm not a babysitter, and am not going to go through the entire thread, twice, just to remove the pics that are breaking the rules. It is your responsibility to follow the guidelines set up by the site administrators/owners, and for now, the rules are quite clear.

The Literotica forum offers three different ways that you as a user can display your own images. Because of the massive size and high activity of the Literotica forum, none of these methods are pre-moderated. However, we will remove any images which are brought to our attention that violate our rules or any U.S. laws. The three methods of posting an image on the Lit forum are as follows:

1) Attachments. These are user-owned images which are uploaded to our server by users. All attachments must meet our guidelines or they will be removed if brought to our attention. Any account may be suspended for repeated violations.

2) Remote linking. These are images which are hosted on your server and displayed in your posts. As with attachments, they must always meet our guidelines.

3) Avatars/Profile Pics. These are your images which you can upload to display on your profile page and next to each post you make. As with the others, they are required to follow our guidelines.

The Literotica Forum Photo Guidelines have been created to conform to United States law in regards to content and copyright laws. If you disagree with the policy, please remember to cast your vote in any upcoming election.

Here are the basic Forum Photo Guidelines:

- Legally, we can allow soft nudity, but under current United States law, photographs (does not apply to non-photographic images) posted on this site may not contain "sexually explicit conduct", which the government defines as:

- Actual or simulated:
(A) sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, whether between persons of the same or opposite sex;
(B) bestiality;
(C) masturbation;
(D) sadistic or masochistic abuse; or
(E) lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person. We're talking about the close-ups, or any pictures where the genitals or pubic area is the center of attention, or part of any simulated masturbation. Artistic full nudes are fine, so long as they aren't spread shots and the person can't be masturbating or simulating masturbation

- All persons in all adult-themed photographs must be over 18 years of age.

- Image must not contain URL or other advertisement.

- You must have a legal right from the copyright owner to post any images - i.e. photographs/drawings that you yourself created and/or have a license or other permission to post.

If you see any images which violate these guidelines, please report the post and we will review your report. Anyone caught repeatedly violating these guidelines may have their image posting privileges revoked. Literotica may remove any image for any reason without notice, and may periodically purge old images from the forums.

I would like to know, out of interest, why some threads have full penetrative sex shots and are left up there. (I am NOT complaining) while others are deleted as innapropriate for far less lavicious content? I realise there has to be a line drawn in the sand, and you guys do a good job as a wehole, but the rules don't seem to be applied evenly across all the userbase. Is there a reason some are allowed and others arent?

Quite simply, it because I have to either A), see the pictures myself, and there is far too many pictures for me to spend all my time looking at every thread (so my checks are relatively random), and B), rely on people like you to report the illicit pictures (you can imagine how well that works).

The way this is going to work is like this: when I remove a picture from your thread for breaking the rules, that's your warning to not to it again. If you continue to do so (and I will check back . . . I keep a list), then you run the risk of being banned from the site.

Think of it like speeding. The majority of speeders don't get caught, but the ones that do get a hefty fine.

There just aren't enough Lit Cops on the board to keep up.

The laws refer to the 2257 laws, that have been challenged, struck down, upheld, struck down again (which is recently being appealed) . . . all over the last few years. I'm sure we can all understand the siteowners feelings on this. Until it's all settled, they're going to play it safe.

If I understand correctly, 2257 states that if you do have a pic on here that has A, C, D, or E, you need to have a complete record of the legality of all subjects involved in the picture. And of course that isn't feasible here. Am I correct on that?
