In a discussion about the respective aesthetic and pain-inducing value of nipple clamps and clothepins, someone mentioned binder clips, which I had never thought of using before. This prompted me to try them on myself, and yep, I like those. These things are mean!

Do you have any recently perverted implement in your tool-box? Or a favorite one, old or new? How do you use them? Why do you like it? What makes for a good pervertible in your books?

Lets share the pleasure!

Kitty and I made a spreader bar and one of those arm-spreader-bars today. (I'm not really sure what the proper name for the arm thingie is.) Painfully simple and cost around five bucks a piece to make. I'm also a horseback rider, and there are a whole bunch of horsey pervertibles. Whips and chains are the obvious ones, but I can make a rubber bit gag in five minutes. I just bought a $2 metal sweat scraper today to spank Kitty's ass with. It left nice welts. :p

I could go on and on. I  bondage on a budget!

Everyone has seen a jumprope, right? Ever seen the kinds that boxers use? They use two sorts: a speed rope that is plastic and covered in cylindrical beads, and a heavy rope that is leather. Thick leather. Thick round leather.

I had a heavy rope sitting around and realised, wow, it would make a nasty flogger. So I built a handle for it, and finished wrapping it tonight. I'll take a picture of it at some point.

The falls are thick, heavy, and rough. It hurts like a motherfucker. And it has a lot of thud to go with the fiery sting. Good stuff, and cheap, as a heavy rope is a LOT less expensive that the materials to make a full suede/hide flogger.

You can make some truly vicious floggers from bicicyle innertubes too. Just be ready for your bottom to hate you :D

I made a very thuddy slapper from some nylon rope. I just did a typical flat braid and made sure the end was finished tight. Thuddy and soft enough to eat up a lot of the sting. Very flexible, and can be turned into restraints in a flash =)

And I've made like a dozen rope floggers as Christmas presents for pervy friends. Use the nice rope and they're dreamy, sensual wonderful things. Use the nasty rope and, wow, I wouldn't want it on my ass.

Ever tried an electric toothbrush? :D

Homburg, you don't have a thread with step-by-step instructions on the toys you make, do you? I've made a couple of floggers, but have trouble with the handles and finishing work. There are lots of instructions out there, but they never seem to go into detail or have step-by-step pictures on those steps. :(

If you ever have some time, I think it'd be an awesome contribution, as I know I'm not the only one who has trouble putting things together from general instructions and sight. :D

One of my favorite pervertibles is a paint stir stick wrapped in electrical tape.

Another is a heavy-duty wrapping/packaging paper tube. I'll wrap my next one in tape to guard against bending w/ heavier impact, but they're free and provide a nice amount of sting and thud.

A stainless steel coffee or small ice cream scoop is usually perfect for putting over the head of the cock to cool down arousal, especially if it'd been sitting on ice for a while beforehand.

A friend has padded foam twist-ties he bought at Fred Meyer. They're about 9" long and are great for quick bondage, CBT and sensation play. Pipe cleaners can also be made into a bunch of things and used many ways.

IIRC, Kailey86 (or Kailey_86?) started a Homemade toys thread that had a ton of pervertibles in it, if you're interested. :)

I don't, but I've thought about it. Some of them are bloody easy. Others are a bit too complex for my taste as yet. Given time, I could produce 3-4 mini-tutorials.

One of my problem is that I'm almost as lazy as I am poor. Homemade toys like the floggers described by Hom above sound great, but too time-consuming for me. I prefer 'ready-to-use' pervertibles.

Wooden rulers.

OMG..just OMG. i didn't think i would like it. Boy was i wrong.

I am more cheap/poor than I am lazy. I also enjoy the challenge of making these items for myself, the pride of craftsmanship, and, frankly, I make my own stuff, my own way.

I can think of four toys that I've purchase for impact use, a crop, a dressage whip (soooo fun), and two canes. I've made pretty much everything else that I use, and would've made one of my canes myself had I been able to find a furniture place that would sell the width of rattan I want.

I still plan to look and produce my own. I love caning, and want to have my own canes, by my own hands.

Speaking of canes, the plastic rods that are used to control blinds can be used for light caning. Nasty things.

Note: The floggers I've made are NOT professional quality. I'm still trying to figure out the damned turks head knot, and until I do I won't be able to make pretty floggers.

So true. SO TRUE!!! Those mothers are a big OUCH!!!

I have a book on knots & splices....
let me know how many leads & blights & I can look it up for you...
I am still trying the monkey's fist... ("not as pretty" a turk's supposedly)
PMme as I am not subscribing..

That'd be wonderful! In the same vein, I also need help determining specific materials to use (e.g. diameters of rope, types of leather, names of hardware, size and types of dowels) and where I might get them, (e.g. plumbing section, upholstery section of the craft store, specific retailers, where I'd find a leather jumprope).

I don't know why, but I seem to have a great deal of trouble finding stuff like rubber tubing and even right-sized D-rings, even when I wander around and ask people in the store. It might be because I don't know the other uses for these items, or even what section they'd likely be in.

As for the turks head knot, I found a couple of tutorials and finally figured it out enough to finish off a suede flogger that I'd been using without a real handle for many months (I just rolled the whole thing up and put a hairband around it  ).

I started with this one, practicing it on my hand, like the pic shows, many times until I was relatively confident I could do it without looking at the picture TOO much:
http://www.troop54.com/knots/TurksHeadKnot/TurksHeadKnot.htm

I looked at MANY tutorials, but that was the clearest I found. I also watched some animations that showed it around a circular object, like this one:
http://www.ropeworks.biz/archive/Aturkhed.html

I was using red suede lacing, so it was a little tougher to slip it under so many times, but I finally got it down with some practice using an upholstery needle.

It took me a couple of tries to get the knots in the right place on the handle so the top one would cover the end, and the bottom covered the edge of my wrapping, but I finally got something I was happy with. I'll take and attach a pic here tomorrow so you can see if it's along the lines of what you want.

If I can do it, you can do it! I have a great deal of trouble figuring out, remembering ropework and replicating it from sight...it's just not my thing. You clearly have skills and some natural talent for it, so I bet you just need the right instructions. :rose:

Vet tape

we bought it at the local feed store. We havent tried it out yet though.. but it does make a GREAT ace bandage for klutzy wifes who sprain their ankles walking on grass

I don't know you, but since embracing my kinky side, every store I visit feels like a toy store! LOL
So many good daily items that look like they are just waiting to be perverted! :D

Hubby likes ice play and he has been using those freezing gels that comes with cake boxes ... nice, small, reusable .... mmmmm
And of course the standard laundry pins ...

A recent discovery is a nice little plastic brush with silicon bristles to clean keyboards ... the bristles are very good to brush on the nipples ... and the brush itself is flat and perfect for self-pussy spanking *blush*

Now when Hubby gets home I am thinking to check out the long bamboo shoe-horn ... :D

Here are some pics of my finished flogger w/ turks heads, Homburg. It's not perfect, but was a major feat for me! :cathappy:

This next one is kinda blurry, but shows the detail on how I finished it. I did one last pass, snipping it off at the border of the bottom scallop, then put a drop of superglue on the underside of the little tail to hold it in place. I also put a few drops of superglue under the knot at other strategic places.

Another pervertible: A bamboo cane wrapped in a vine from the dried flowers/reeds section of Michael's craft store. These must be wrapped in electrical tape or similar to be safe, really - otherwise, they break rather easily and could really harm someone. They still break with the tape, but it keeps them together (I reinforce the stress points with plenty of tape), and it actually can give them an even nicer action and sting! I also put many layers of tape on the bottom to form a more cushioned grip for myself and at the tip to get rid of any sharp edges.

The unwrapped version (again, NOT suitable for impact play) shows extra tape for thicker handle and tip, and the finished product:

You might find this useful then. I swear I have to make more time to click on all his links for where to get quality materials and instruments and begin thinking about actually following his lead and having some quality therapeutic fun making something ultra special.

it's amazing hom many simple items can be used for toys. a cheap extension cord can give a wonderfully painful beating in the right hands. three bambo bean poles tapped together at one end can be loads of fun too. It gives a nice snap, but there's some weight to them too so you feel it deep down. :D

W/we used to go to craft stores together and buy long lengths of leather thongs. Taking yards and yards of leather strips to the counter at Michael's was a nice but of lite public humiliation. i'd braid them and we use a bottle or sawed off broom handel for the handel.

i tried making a floggler out of bike innertubes once but it didn't work very well.

Back to the original post: I've used binder clamps and am told that they bring one about as close to safewording as anything ever before. Especially when used on pussy lips.

Homburg's mention of using a heavy jumping rope reminded me that I've also found nasty uses for those color-coded stretch cords that are popular at gyms these days. And they come with their own handle; all you have to do is to find the middle of the stretch band and then bind the two resulting halves together with a rubber band or similar.

Dick's Sporting Goods or Sports Authority are both places you can find leather jumpropes, as well as any sporting goods place that sells boxing gear generally. You can find them online easily at boxing retailers as well.

If I do get time to do in-depth how-tos, I'll get specific as to materials and possible sources, no worries.

Ask. And don't worry about seeming clueless. They get that all the time at hardware stores. People want stuff, but have no idea what it is called or where it is, and with the profusion of people coming in, they don't even think to wonder why you want d-rings, rubber tubing, and leather thongs together.

As for the turks head knot, I found a couple of tutorials and finally figured it out enough to finish off a suede flogger that I'd been using without a real handle for many months (I just rolled the whole thing up and put a hairband around it  ).

I saw the pics, and think they're brilliant. Good work, especially considering the thickness of suede that you were using.

I tried doing the turks head with some shoelace that I keep around for knot practice (Yes, I keep laces and a few lengths of rope sitting around for knot practise. I'll get bored and sit around tying lap bends or somesuch until my hands can do it with no conscious input.) I managed to get respectable turks head looking patterns out of it. Good tutorial. Now I just need to figure out a coupla dozen different things about and get some more thong. And I need to figure out some way to put together the kinda punch they use to lift laces for braiding. That would be hugely beneficial.

On a similar note, I've made clear to my gal that I want a particular book on braiding whips. I played with a Coyote Whip a month back, and I want to make one. Goodness knows why I don't just save the money and buy these things, but something in me just wants to make my own gear.

More to follow on this thread from me!

That site is good stuff! I wish he included more pics though, but I understand that his intent is not to teach braiding, just how to turn braiding into whips.

Why, yes, they are nasty. I lift, and use Jumpstretch bands in various movements. I decded to turn the mini-band on my favourite bottom, and, wow, she ixnayed that treatment right quick

Tittiee clamps?

Tit clamps for the minimalist; take one stick on top, one on the bottom of each tit, connect each side with rubber bands = instant clamps with an asian look. For secretaries substitute chop sticks with pens.

For the more voluptious tits, a couple of walking sticks will do fine, making it possible to squeezs both boobs with 2 walking sticks. Tie them together with rope or bungee cords/surgical tubing or old nylons. One drawback of this is that most doorways are not wide enough to pass through..

Just popping in to say nice boobs and ow the fuck the ow the OW binder clips hurrrrt!

This is probably my favorite of favorites. It can get pricey at 30 bucks a mummification if you are lazy like I am and not a compulsive re-user of the stuff, but I am in love with it.

And of course it comes in neon pink.
