There is a new feature on lit that allows you to see what stories are getting the most feedback. This is number 1 for the week so far. Interesting reading.

Inflammatory and meant to be. Not really indicative of anything other than being able to push buttons.

Quoting from the article:

It should be noted that almost 100% of the time, white men use the singular adjective black to describe the collective of people rather than as a descriptor. i.e. "I want my wife to fuck black, I am attracted to black, I am a slave for black" rather than the proper usage, "I am attracted to black women, I want my wife to fuck black men, I desire to be submissive to black people." Their grammatical objectification of us is but a minor indication that they have yet to shatter the racist beliefs that they claim so boldly to have done.

The author is describing her own experience and the letters that she recieves from white male submissives with an interracial fetish. The thing she is pointing out is that in fetishing black people those males are treating black people as objects. And that is in essentially racist... despite the claims of black superiority.

This is not unlike the fetishizing of dominant women that some male subs do - relating to them, not as people but as a caricature... a "life-support system for a whip".

I think there is value in the article, but that perhaps the author is giving too much weight to her letter writers. I would guess many are HNGs who are merely fantasizing. And certainly she is hearing from a skewed sample of white male subs - those without an interracial fetish have much less reason to write her.

Nice post onceburned.

Interesting article. I thought it was very well written.

I lived with a black man for 5 years, and during that time had my eyes opened to a lot that white people don't see. For instance, we'd go into a convenience store, and it would irritate him to no end when the store manager would follow him around the store like he was going to steal something, and completely ignore me. That kind of racial prejudice goes on all the time. We might empathize, but no white person will ever really have a clue as to the black experience.

I have no problem with the author's anger. There is all sorts of subtle racial stereotyping. I wouldn't want someone coming on to me simply because I was black. I'm a transsexual, and we get it all time - men who want to jump in the sack with you simply because you're a TS. I tell such men, "I'm not in the fantasy fulfillment business." When people come on to you just because you're black or a TS, they're not seeing you as a whole person - you're just a means to an end. In the transworld, we call them "trannychasers."

A GREAT movie on the subject of racism and multiculturism is "Crash." The best movie of the year. Simply incredible.

Someone told me to watch that movie. I'll have to see it soon.

very cool of you to post that stefani, thanks. A lot of people don't see the bigger picture [including us black folks]. We see our side of the picture and we equate that to the rest of the picture when in fact, it may be a very different situation.

I once had a quite intense online relation with a black Dominant lady... (I am white male)... I found out only after a while she was Afro-American, so I can;t say I was looking for it but when I found out it increased certainly my admiration for her... not only her beautiful looks, but also what I found out about her history... not generalising, but I learned that in some parts of American society black women still have a large social backlash... for her to overcome this and get on top of everything (as a Domme) was quite an effort... I think this constant struggle made her very strong and therefore especially appealing from a sub's point of view...

I just wonder why this thread has gotten absolutely no responses... could it be the lack of anonymity? I mean, her essay is the top for the last 7 days as far as comments go but the thread itself has absolutely no replies...

Actually I didn't see the point in responding, as far as I can tell s'lara said all there needs to be said.

In looking for some ideas the other day, I was wandering around some Domme's websites. Not one of them was black. I didnt think about it at the time, as race isnt something thats important to me, but now that you brought it up...hn...you're right. Wonder why that is.

WD - You DO ask the most provocative questions ...

But I can see that intolerance still has a place on these boards. :(

Intolerance sucks. It's so easy to be tolerant, so there is no excuse to being intolerant

As it seems everythings been said I think I'll still put my opinion in. Not that I have much to say but I can say it I suppose.

I've met someone of almost every race working in a grocery store. Sometimes the nicest people that come in are the black customers, but as I see it there are ignorant people in every society and the ones who put people as objects whether they are black or white or anything else is wrong to me for the most part.

As in every relationship noone should be an object and no matter what type of relationship people should be equal...even if you are the one on the bottom.
just my opinion...

I know black Dommes who are completely disgusted by the fetishizing of race. I know black Dommes who are at least sometimes into being Nubian Goddesses crushing white male worms. White sub guys aren't the only people with politically incorrect fetishes and black Dominant women aren't going to have a totally isomorphic reaction to things, some may dig it, some may not and some may dig it on certain days and not on others.

I've been approached gleefully by WASP guys who have every single stereotype about Jewish women you can imagine, hoping I'd play them out. And when it has entertained me, I have. And when it has struck me as gross and icky and anti semitic I've told them to take a hike. It's about how I feel and what I feel like in a given moment.

I thought the essay was pretty damn well written and well voiced as a description of a common interaction and her beef with it.

Didn't read the essay, but word to everything else you said.

I like racial play and want to get into it more with both my females. It's a nice perk of being mixed that I can be white for my black girl and black for my white girl when the mood hits me.

I found the article to be an interesting read personally though I do think that perhaps the author might see this as a bigger movement than it truly is simply because it is one she had a high exposure to. Still even if it is a relatively small segment of the population it is an interesting phenomenon and gives one food for thought. Maybe I've just taken too many biology classes but I'll never understand why anyone would see another person as inferior or superior to themselves based on something as arbitrary as the amount of melanin in their skin.

Ohhhhhhh, Netzach - I have missed the opportunity to interact with you! Granted, the essay is her reality and she is speaking from personal experience; but I, too, hear her complaint about how common the race fetish is - yet how secretive the players seem to be about it. Her piece compels me to look through the appearance that it is a badge of honor to be a male Dominant (any race) of females, but not quite as good (i.e.: keep it in the closet) to be a black, female Dominant - especially - of white males. TFTB by the males involved in this particular fetish? Perhaps ...

I did read the essay, Marquis and must say ...

I can see you being "Man About Town" for your black girl ... and "Mandingo" for your white girl ...

This has kept me puzzled... perhaps it's because I am from Europe, and not very acquinted with the US jewish community... my only reference is Woody Allen movies and Fran Drescher... just what would a stereotype Jewish Domme be like?

Woody Allen movies and Fran Drescher should clue you in somewhat.

Materialistic, callous, smothering, mothering, sexually uptight OR a sexually voracious nympho nut, sadistic, psychically armed to the hilt with guilt, just crazy enough to be scary, and definitely definitely an eeee-masculating pants wearing woman.

What else?

Have you not seen the BBC series, "Birds of a Feather".
Dorien, is wicked. I love her character to bits.
I once bought a pair of leopard print, skin tight jeans, but really feel they are just too "dorien" to wear them anywhere other than in scene.
I might just be feeling insecure about my age too.

"it was Lesley Joseph who managed to steal most of the honours, turning in a cracking performance as the man-eating Dorien. Joseph played up the stereotypical Jewishness and hard-heartedness of the characters and camped up her smouldering libido to create a cross between a dragon lady and a vamp.
She's in the centre of the attached pic.
Just trying to think of something european you might have seen. Sorry.

Now you are just giving me ideas....

1) I find the thread very intersting wanted to thank WD for bringing the article up but also wondered if he had thoughts about it, or just wanted to let everyone else add their two (or ten) cents.

2) Crash IS an EXCELLENT movie! I work at a movie theater, and if you could see one movie next weekend, see that! I wanted to congradulate Stefani for referencing that movie too. At times it left me a sobbing mess.

3) I'm a mixed race child and think light skinned "black" people's place should be considered in the discussion as well. As touched on in Crash, we are either acting white or black, but really have no identity of a mixed ancestry. I've been shown discrimination from both "sides" for my pigmentation in rl, and in the lifestyle and vanilla relationships I've been asked to be "more black" in order to fit the dom's sterotype in his mind and once I was rejected because I was "too dark". I would be very interested to know if anyone else has encountered similar experiences and how they felt about them. ... Perhaps this idea is a bit tangental and perhaps to some I sound like a loud caramel sounding board, I apologize if I come off that way - I mean not to, but just wanted to start off sharing my thoughts after following posts all day from all of the wonderful people in this community. :)

I could talk about this all day.
