Suffragium - The path to the senate : OOC thread

Set in the glory days of the Roman republic, this story explores the life of a bisexual patrician who is a Senate aspirant, his young wife, an influential senator and various other characters.

Plotline:

The middle-aged patrician's appetites have become known to an influential senator. His ambitions are exploited by coercing him to share his wife. He finds he enjoys it and begins to join in the various trysts, fulfilling his bisexual desires as well.


My character:
Aurelia - the 21 year old woman bearing an old proud name married to a patrician on similar social standing. Marriage contract involved large dowry and a promise of political support.

Cassius, the 45 year old husband of Aurelia, watched his wife order the servants around to get the evening party set up. There were over 50 guests for the party, both men and women, and Cassius knew that some of them would hold the key for him to become a Senator. That was his dream, to eventually become a Senator, and he felt he was very close to becoming one.

Though Aurelia was young, beautiful and had the nubile looks that most men desired, Cassius was also interested in men. Particularly men with nice big cocks, since nothing pleased him more than sucking a cock, or multiple cocks for that matter. He had had numerous opportunities to indulge in his bisexual activities, which were part of his life. He had married Aurelia more out of political need than love, but he ccasionally performed his marital duties.

He was curious on what the evening party would bring.

Quintus Fabius Maximus

Born of a family of good breeding; he immediately devoted himself to a life of dissipation after winning his election to the Roman Senate. He developed his considerable influence by hosting parties of highly sordid nature.

One such an occasion featured gladiators competing in the nude. After the end of a contest (usually wrestling – unless someone requested otherwise) the victor earned the right to copulate with a Patrician woman of his choosing in public. The other guests then observed the very scandalous scene of a Roman lady of noble birth mated to a foreign slave.

On the other hand, since the Victor won the right to select his partner; a number of Patrician men (even Senators) humbled themselves before their peers by becoming the recipient of another man’s penis. Indeed, Fabius often engineered such occurrences in order to ensure the support of some unfortunate, wayward politician.

Hi,

I am happy to play what ever role that tis needed to fill the story; including female(s) if required.

However my character I was thinking is Anglo-Saxon. He was a slave, who ended up fighting for a Roman Legion, and saved his commander's life. As such he was granted Roman Citizen ship and is now In Rome as a former soldier/slave.

He works for Aurelia and Cassius, as more of a 'Butler' style character helping her to run thier household.

I am also happy to play any other female slaves as required

Tomatoes

How would you be able to acquire tomatoes when they are still unknown to the ancient world - still to be discovered in North America?

I had that issue as well. Perhaps we should only describe to the extent of our confidence in it accuracy. Otherwise a simple juice would suffice.

Not sure we want this as a time travel SRP....want to keep this in ancient day Rome only.

He hasn't revealed that to anyone, not even Aurelia (and won't be doing so). As far as she knows, he's a skilled cook and, when necessary, a fighter. Besides that, he likes the change of pace in his life.

Quintus Fabius Maximus

For future reference, while Fabius's body slave shaved his beard on a daily basis, he keeps his body hair intact: which means that he possessed unshaved pubic hair.

A Rich Widow

If Fabius proposes the following idea, would Cassius consider taking up the offer?

Quintus Fabius Maximus has a dear friend, a rich widow, that desperately needs a husband. He, of course, wants to make her desire a reality. Turning to Cassius, he suggests that Cassius divorce Aurelia, since the widow's extensive fortune guarantees his election to the Senate.

Furthermore, divorcing Aurelia liberates Cassius from his obligations to Aurelia's father. Fabius then asks if he might then propose marriage to Aurelia and make her his wife.
