Today's is 5,985 so far. I keep coming back to them and adding this and that, though

You're a lot more efficient than I am. I'm working around some distractions, but that's not enough of an excuse for writing 2K in a day, then deleting half of it. And that wouldn't even be a bad day.

Yesterday's story was over 10,000 words. I've been on a roll at least one story a day for two weeks. Those are erotica stories. I have a mainstream novel to write that isn't moving at all. I think my muse is dumping the erotica to keep me from writing mainstream.

My Muse is being just the opposite. She keeps dumping the mainstream so i haven't got time to write the porn, uh, erotica.

I don't think I've ever deleted any erotica I wrote. I can see that some might do this, but I don't. And mine becomes longer when I review it (to get to the end I've skipped over some detail in the draft). I've never thrown a story away, though. Although I come up with new content and twists while I'm writing it, my mind drops enough of the story before I'm aware of it for there to be a story there.

I have more of a problem of the mind dropping more than one story or my being too busy to get a story down with the mind drops it. Sometimes I lose them--but that would be before I started writing them.

HP's post on men's reasons for divorce got me thinking. I started with imagining the reasons that women would give for divorce then quickly graduated to 'What if Lit had a "Loving Husbands" category, symmetrical to "Loving Wives."

I'd like to envision an implosion that consumes them both, but I doubt it would be that symmetrical.

...
One cuppa for HP on his way to bed. Oh and by the way, the advertising department probably didn't spell it right on purpose. It draws more attention.
...

And it's less likely that they would run into issues with clashing names. All you need is a mom-and-pop in Peoria called "Crispy Cream" to sue for name infringement.

That's why so many newer companies go for weird names, that are likely to be unique. Like Accenture, or Google, or Verizon, or Etsy, GoDaddy, or Zillow, or VodaFone, or Yelp, or Uber, or Airbnb, or Spotify ... or Krispy Kreme :)

Oh, so deliberate misspelling and so on attracts visitors ? Right. . . . .

In the meantime, we got a severe case of the 'gloomies'. :(
It started with the rain and worked down from there.

So if there's any coffee left, I'm in for one please.

PS. making the Tea at night is appreciated; thanks :)

And.... gotta run. Gotta run. Going for an early morning run in the coolness. The big guy is waiting at the door..... Enjoy the coffee everyone and have a wonderful day! Wonderful, I tell you :rose::rose::rose::rose::rose:

A fresh pot of coffee to wash down some of the over enthusiasm dripping off the.... Some people take morning runs way too serious. :D

At my age, making it to the bathroom on time can be a marathon some mornings. Now the kitchen for coffee, that is a whole other story. Add in feeding the cat and it becomes a cross country marathon.

The plan for today is.... There ain't one yet. Not enough coffee. I did find the secret to eight hours sleep. Stay up for 36 hours.

Well, it was a really good run - two hours - and now washed, fluffed and for a bonus, I'm caffeinated as well. Work calls. And then, going to fit in some Tae Kwon Do training this evening. Writing will have to wait until tomorrow alas. So my plans for today are really easy. I really have to finish my Nude Day story tho. I have to pull a Pilot and do a 10k word day.

Yeh, I agree about the bathroom marathon. It ain't funny, especially on a really cold morning.

I'm envious of your ability to organise things that way.
Except the 2 hour run, of course. I was never that interested.

I managed to make it to work without my reading glasses. Not sure how long this will work.

The wildfire smoke is thick this morning. I could smell it outside my office and it turned the sunlight to a filtered sort of orange color.

I agree.
That "race you to the bathroom" Grand Prix is really no fun.

It's more waking up in the morning and, of course, needing to go NOW! And the wife is drying her hair and singing verse one of "100 Bottle of Beer on the Wall" in the motel bathroom. :D

I used to know that feeling; quite well.
Of course, there's the old stand-by "you should not use electrical equipment in a bathroom, but that might be considered a different problem.

Happy Birthday, HP! (a day late) I hope you had a good day. :rose:

HP had a birthday?

That makes him older than dirt. :D

Happy, happy, old son.

Bathroom run every two hours. I often wonder what it would be like to sleep for three hours straight... sigh.

Orange sky is not good. Sounds like the fires are way too close.

There is a huge flashing sign when you come into town: NO FIRES NO SHOOTING NO SMOKING. I am sure one spark and the entire valley would go up in flames. We need those monsoon rains to start.

They say that our smoke is coming all the way from Prescott (central AZ).

So fireworks are okay, right?

We have fire restrictions everywhere, but this year isn't as bad as the last couple. There's only eight or nine fires burning in the state right now, a lot of those are in the wilderness, and they're not huge.

I'm waiting on the monsoon, too. It can't come soon enough, but I always say that.

Morning people,

This eight hours a night sleep is becoming habit forming. Today is another catch up on chores that I didn't get done the last catch up day.

The coffee is ready so help yourself. I put out mini donuts this morning. Maybe that will slow HP down. :D

And a chirpy good morning to you Tex, and anyone else that's up. Feeling all happy today. A bit battered from Tae Kwon Do last night but it was a good workout and no bruises or blood. A bonus! I had a good sparring partner who pushed me. Got up this morning and saw one of my stories made it for the September 2016 Category Nominees (so did one of Oggs) which was great. Neither of us got into the top three but hey, we were there. That's a nice way to start.

A few days off now so today is full on writing. Yaaaay. So now I'm taking a coffee break and then it's back to the keyboard.

Huh. Everything looks the same around here. Have a good day, people.

Dunkin Donuts home brew today as I start the review of a 100,000-word anthology.
