I came here in the eager expectation of detailed discussions of wing collar heights, peaked or notched lapels, single or double breasted, yokes...instead I find models in off-the-peg shiny numbers. Disappointing is not the word.

Color be damned, there is no substitute for the classic lines of a well tailored suit. It is the "hipster" influence on the cut and fit that I am opposed to, Joe Bastianich of Master Chef or Simon Baker of the Mentalist are perfect examples. Do they look bad, IMHO, yes. They look like guys trying to be hip and look impressive, what they've succeeded in doing is to look like dorks, especially Joe and his damned shoes.

There is no one size fits all trend or fashion. The world would be a very boring place if there were. If you don't care for the hipster look, don't wear it. Simple as that. But it does work for some. Like this gent. I, for one, think he looks rather dashing.
