This will probably go unanswered as the others (yes I read the warning but am taking a shot anyway).
I read this story a long time ago. A husband is sitting with three other guys in a bar, quite possibly in a hotel. The wife pretends not to know him and goes on flirting with the three gentlemen. It is not supposed to go too far. Two of them strike out. The third seems to know what he is doing. The husband dares the wife a bit too much and she ends up going off with this guy. He sits in his room rather furious, regretting his decision when she comes back and assures him nothing untoward took place.
A very well written story by an accomplished author. I am hoping to read more by the same author if it rings a bell for someone. Anyone!
