Anyone ever wrote a story based on Story Idea forum?

I occasionally look at the Story Idea forum (http://forum.literotica.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2), but I never felt an urge to write a story based on an idea someone introduced there. I have more ideas of my own than I have time to write up. And it seems I'm not the only one. When I look through the threads, I have never seen any ideas turning into stories. At best, the ideas are bounced back and forth for a while before the thread die out. So I'm curious -- did anyone ever write a story based on an idea introduced by a reader in that forum?

Sara you tease you. I thought it was Susan you wanted. Go away with your silly little links

Tom - two and two only and I'm working on them. Carnal Flower and her suggestion about political erotica got me thinking and the othrr was a rapidly deleted thread og Noir's that gave me the title for a story.

Never.

LIT isn't the place to come for inspiration. Its a safe place for snowflakes.

Raspberry. You can get ideas anywhere. It doesn't take much. My one based on your thread is called "lovecraft and my Granpops" and I'm trying noir style. Read some of those authors you recommended. Its fun. Asian girl heoine. Hard nosed cop grandpops. Lovecaft. And all an idea from your thread.

My latest effort starts with a street mugging and ends with a suicide. Technically it violates no LIT rules but I'm confident Laurel wont okay it. Its over the top raw sex and violence. A whole nuther standard for Loving Wives.
Never say never?

I did one a few years back. Someone was looking for a story about twins with the added element that the sister was a virgin and the brother had once saved her life.

It's hard to believe that came out in 2011....

On topic sort of...I have written several stories based on short porn clips that um...did it for me and I wanted to write a story around the scenario.

You think this place is for snowflakes? The amount of abuse leveled at people here on the boards and through comments and feedback makes reddit look like a 'safe zone'

No shit, Batman. I was laughing at that one. Look at BoundariesBroken and that abuse he copped from a cuck story on LW. No safe spaces for snowflakes on LIT. I never thought of reddit as a "safe zone" but, rotflmao, you're so right,

I'm just happy the posters on the Politics Thread here are sane (well, relatively speaking that is) and don't take their dislikes off the Politics Board after my little rants there, "Ignore"s excepted of course (cough pilot mutter mutter cough cough except I don't think that's an ignore so much as a coldly maintained silence but never mind that).

Never say never indeed. I've had a read thru your stories (that Noir stuff) and I do like that raw violence. I like my sex a bit more nuanced tho.

If the violence is against women, you're golden, no one will complain. The only time a violent story is reported is when the violence and torture is against a man because it makes all the real men like you more scared of women than you already are.

It features both. A cheating wife is beaten by a lover, then stalks and murders new lovers. The detective who stalks the killer wife beats a few guys. The whole thing starts with a violent purse snatching.

If your ma had been my ma youd be afraid too. And she was a little thing lots smaller than me, my brother, and my old man. We'd chew our hands off before touching her. She was evil.

In NOIR WORLD sex comes in 3 flavors:

Theres hors-oderves sex that takes the edge off your hunger for heartier fare, there's pot luck sex like you get at a church social, and there's meatloaf and mashed potato sex you get after a long fast.

I joined a local author's association to try and network and there is a guy there who writes what he calls "Lovecraftian Noir" so sort of hard bolied detective versus the Cthulhu mythos....I traded him one of my books for one of his...

I don't think he knows what Noir is...it had no atmosphere, no darkness, no grit, no angst...just vanilla. He had one sex scene that I could have written when I was maybe 12:rolleyes:

David Goodis wrote dark noir. His darkest tale is THE PROFESSIONAL. Its a story about a hit man and his sweetheart. BLACK PUDDING is an excellent Loving Wives story in which a wife sends her husband to prison and takes up with a gangster.

Goodis was the best because he knew the way to the hell beneath our souls then unlocked the gate..

Yes, I'm finding Noir a challenge. I mean, I like writing fight scenes but it's that whole grittiness and dark angst thing I find a challenge. My violence usually has an edge of humor all the way through it and that's me coming out. I have to get past that and honestly, not to flatter you or anything Noir, but reading your stuff helps me get past my own limits. Enjoying it. Not sure how its going to turn out but for a first stab, it's fun so far. Especially grandpops cop beating up the homeboy wannabe pimp when he makes a not so subtle play for my heroine. That's where I have to work on the humor again. It keeps working its way in but at least it's black humor. LOL.

I love writing fight scenes and although I don't inject humor in them I at times feel as if I have a hard time maintaining the desired aura.

I do however, use humor in the form of insults before the fight as the opponents will goad each other.

ObTopic: Story Ideas is not a waste.

Yes. I and another author each wrote a naked-girl-in-a-box-at-a-party story based on an SI thread -- mine was Gift Box. My How I Became an Evil Queen was prompted (if not inspired) by an SI request. Some episodes and incidents in my A Taste of Incest stories derive from SI threads. I contribute a lot to SI and occasionally harvest something.

This message is hidden because NOIRTRASH is on your ignore list.

Whatever.

The secret of noir is objective detachment. Knowing what needs to happen and doing it without sentiments, good or bad. Think Al Capone NOT Charles Manson. Think surgeon NOT Jack the Ripper.

I ran across a superhero type movie the other day that you will find interesting from the humor in violence point of view. It's called "Deadpool".

PM me and I'll give you the url to the free movie site.

As for the OP's question. I have checked out the Story Ideas threads from time to time but found little to peak my interest. Most of it is people wanting rewrites of their favorite flavors of fetish or stories that are already knee deep around here.

Besides which, a writer has to have a good bit of confidence and backbone to just continue writing here through the abuse James alone posts in the forum, not even counting the rating and comment abuse here.

Responding to the OP question, I'm pretty sure I've written a story or two based on the "what would I do with this scenario on the Story Idea forum," but I can't remember off hand which of the stories that would have been--and I'm sure I just took the scenario given as a take-off/twist idea.

I have too many story ideas without using those from Story Ideas.

I think the majority of ideas there are for stories I wouldn't write. There are some few suggestions I might consider among the requests for Incest and First Time but most of the proposals are too detailed to be useful for me.

On the plus side, once you've survived LIT and you get yourself published, any critical Amazon reviews are just going to be oh so vanilla. Writing on LW adds spice to life. Winding up anonymous is far more fun than winding up Flower Girl. As for ratings, hey, you're gonna get bombed sometime somewhere if you push the envelope. Just gotta suck it up. And James is funny. Altho my sense of humor is questionable at best.

The first story I wrote on Lit came out of a post in the story idea forum. It wasn't for a specific idea, but rather from a complaint about the lack of believable incest stories. I took that as a challenge.

Occasionally I've poked my head in there since, but nothing else has caught my fancy enough to pursue it.

I thought about it ... this guy had a really good idea ... I think the premise was he was a writer, but couldn't write but the ideas in his head wouldn't leave his head .... slowly his heads starts to break? I don't know cracks show in his skin and the ideas he has start to escape his mind and are happening.

Sound likes a horror story.

Throw in some sexual fantasies escaping and becoming reality and you've got a good bit of paranormal horror fantasy erotica. Whoooaaaa, that could be good.

PILETTE makes me laugh.

I scored all his stories 5 stars. I didn't read many, and none since, but he got all 5s. And I;m an asshole.

TEX too. All 5's, and I'm an asshole.

That said, I just read a short story by Lawrence Block. Bought it at Amazon. Its underage incest and snuff. Cant post it at LIT. But its better writing than anything at LIT. Nothing close to it.

LIT is the Little League, Block is the major league. It is what it is.
