To add an interesting twist, how bout a scenario where her husband works for a prominent law firm that requires special concessions for promotion through the ranks.

I like this one, and it's kind of a 'thing' for me.
For example, I have two stories on the back burner, each around 5k words. Not nearly long enough, as I want to draw it out some.

How old are the couple? How long married? Any kids, and if so, where? What's their socio-economic status? Whatever -- somehow hubby convinces wifey to be tied and blinded. Almost as bad, the poker crew is all from the neighborhood. When the wife's blindfold slips, she sees the husbands of all her girlfriends, but she can't break character. She can't let them know she knows.
