Funny thing is, not to long ago, it wasn't a swamp.

This ain't my first rodeo. This has been my home for a while now but like the last three, this one will also get overrun by the barbarians. It's always a matter of time. When a site gets so big that the management doesn't have time, the forums are usually the first thing neglected. That's then the rot sets in as it is setting in here.

It'll soon be time for a new home. That's just a fact of life. I will have to say that this one was probably the best of the four and it will be hard to replace.

Sorry but I left one time and for a reason that had nothing to do with anyone here. I later found out that things changed so I came back. It happens.

As for me initiating anything and continuing anything, it take two and you do your part on a regular basis. You make it quite obvious what you think of the people who have been here a while and do your best to run them off.

I don't remember your first posts here. The first time I remember you is from the feedback forum.

Why would Freefall have an beef with me?

I haven't posted anything on this "political" poll subject that over two-thirds of the voters in that poll didn't also think. And both you and Stella are just sore losers for not having seen reality to begin with. And it's Stella who has led the charge in divisiveness over the issue and who has been using trolling tactics and has pulled in an active troll. If you want to do that shit too, go right ahead--but don't pretend that I'm the one doing it.

As far as I could tell, it didn't involve a picnic. But then, I guess you could see sexual connotation in that in a second look.

The only reason I even got into this mess was because of the total number of political threads were overwhelming the rest of the forum. Most of it is't even political as such but lame cut and paste posts that show one side or the other and don't allow for any discussion at all except yelling and screaming.

I've never understood why anyone would post politics on a porn site. Well, yes I do in a sense. They have a captive audience and they know it. They know we have to wade through their shit to get to ours. It's stupid and irritating and they know that also.

All I know is that you were have too much fun egging her on but that for you to decide. I'm out of it.

Hell. I might be proved wrong, but that's the most reasonable thing I've heard all day. You seem like a nice guy Tx. Guess we all pick our sides and want people to understand why and there's nothing wrong with that.

I get why the politics have been annoying, but what got me to dig in my heels was the 'Any post that seem political in nature and the whole thing gets moved.' Defining what's political gets hazy. *shrug* IDK, hopefully this will all blow over soon.

As a complete outsider and not knowing anything that's going on, I've noticed a lot of posturing and hypocritical things said. Because I don't know anyone personally, I can take an objective look and see that tempers are flaring mostly because no one seems to be able to stop pushing everyone else's emotional buttons. One person starts and it's a chain-reaction among all the people. One after the other, the rants and then insults get worse as it escalates. I've been trying to read as much of what is happening in the threads and get a better idea of what I'm getting into here. I can't yet understand the reasoning for banning or moving political threads, they're everywhere on every site and chatroom. I can understand the need to control and actually stop all the animosity between everyone for the sake of preservation of what is here already and workable to fix. I would think if everyone was voting on something, it would be to decide if banning offenders was on the table. I take it a Mod is a moderator and this person would be responsible for policing the forum. A PC or PM to the Mod, of a infringing comment done in private, solves many of the conflicts I see here. This Mod could immediately put a 1 hr. ban on first offences, and every subsequent ban would result in a greater length of time until after 5, they're gone for good. That's fair on the person making the bad comments, 5 chances is plenty to get the idea across, and it's fair for the others to have a private outlet to vent, without turning the whole place into a firestorm, that's so far gone on a week from what I see, and nothing has happened yet to get a resolution. This is swift and private and no hurt feelings between the offender and the offendee. This is just an outsider's take on it all and I could be so waaaayyy out of line on this. It's just that it makes so much sense to do something like that, instead of what I see happening. The vote won't be until Nov.14. almost a month away I see, and this will just keep going on out of control until you get the results, All I see is discension over the fairness of thread moving and nothing to stop the animosity that runs rampant throughout a lot of the threads.

There were two reasons political threads were brought up to be moved. Some days and weeks, the political threads bury all the other ones, which don't stay up long enough to get any attention. Nobody minds a few political threads now and again, and everyone expects it during a campaign season, but some felt it's just gone on a long time with no die down. Since other larger-focused topics have been given their own space here on Lit, some felt this was a reasonable thing to do. Others didn't.

The second reason political threads were looked at closely was that some feel that the animosity generated from them bleeds over into the other threads.

As for your last point, several have tried to get the site owners to do that very thing, but, they tend to consider this a free speech zone and don't intervene. You can report an inappropriate post, but you'll get back a message eventually telling you to basically calm down and use your ignore button. That was part of the vote too, this time. I guess the site owner was now willing to consider it and the political thread relocation, but it had to be all or nothing and 2/3 majority to vote on it. It's not going to pass.

Hi Miss Honey, the thing I can't understand about this bumping other threads off the page, comes down to one thing, laziness. Just plain laziness. The other non-political threads don't disappear from use, they're just on the next page. So if the political threads are predominant for a week or two because of a major issue, let them take their time in the sun to shine and soon they will dwindle off to obscurity, leaving the most desired threads to continue as normal. The ones I see posted in the most won't go to far anyway, right. So this issue of political threads is just over laziness of everyone to move one or two pages back to bump it up again to the first page.
