Literotica stories as porn films

Seriously, why aren't these happening? There are literally hundreds of erotic stories out there waiting to be made into porn films sooooooooo much better than the mediocre rubbish out there nowadays.

Porn these days is rubbish really. It seems to have decreased in creativity and eroticism in direct contrast to its massive increase in availability.

At least in the old days porn used to have an attempt at a decent story and theme, despite the ugly male actors with their unreliable erections and half drugged looking actresses. Now we have the quality of film, but with just boring repeated scenes with fake titted, tattooed bimbos being fucked in the same variety of positions with no erotic context.

There are so many deeply erotic stories out there, both in novel form and all over literotica, why does nobody ever attempt to make a film with stories like those? It's like decent stories are kept strictly separate from porn these days. Surely there would be a demand for a film like that.

Any suggestions for which stories definitely need bringing to the screen?

However take any story from the genre of your pick that's over three stars and you'd have a great film.

But porn isn't movie making any longer. It's take three lines of idea, do one to two days of filming - edit the mess and release. What you are talking about require a modicum of skills - acting, writing, directing, editing. Lots of money tied up there.

Of course, I'll recommend my stories as well. Well maybe 1/2-3/4 of them anyway. I don't think any porn company would take them on, so that leaves me one choice if I want to turn my stories from words to actions: to do it myself.

Isn't the 'amateur' genre the most popular one lately? Doesn't that mean that bad acting and low-budget is basically expected? If that is truly the case, the only thing holding all of us back is the cast and the balls to star in a porn. Then we would be back into the "old days" as referenced above. Boring ugly guys with a beer gut and cheesy acting.

There are HD-capable video cameras on the market for under $400. Add in a tripod, a memory card, and a cheap (or hacked) video editing app, and the hardware is good. Most decent Lit authors could turn a story into a screenplay, so that side is covered.

In my opinion, the only difficult part for making the porn is the same as it is for many people to get good sex to start with. The threads in this forum are awash with "I can't get laid", so finding a partner in bed can be hard to do in the first place, not to mention finding one that would be willing to do it on film, while taking direction, would be even harder.

Since legal issues suck, how would the budding Lit actor/producer release them? There are audio and text stories here, as well as ones with embedded pictures, so maybe we can get a new sub-topic on Lit for member-made videos.

Distribution probably isn't the problem you might think it is. My guess is - if a quality product is built 'on spec' - then samples of it could be shopped to various distributors and deals can be struck from there.

Heck, I recall someone selling books on Amazon a bit back on doing your own porn and making money off it.

And to follow on from my previous post - you mention here too. The technology used to be the bar to entry - now it's trivial, and anyone can do it. The issue is the creative side; can someone do it well. And in 'our' case it's the writing that is the weakest part.

As a filmmaker myself the story is everything.Talent willing to get naked is tough to find. And editing and color correction are extremely time consuming.
 
Dont you perhaps think that some erotic stories are based on porn films?
 
I would love to see the Literotica stories "Gangbang Mommy", "Mom at the Bachelor Party", or "Mom Goes Clubbing" made into porn movies. Simone Sonay cast as the mom role.

I appreciate the shameless plug! As RAH observed there ain't no such thing as a free lunch... TANSTAAFL I believe the acronym used.

What I was trying to say was the lack of quality writing in current porn. Heck, in most any kind of movie for that matter.

Having two people try to do quality acting may be harder than you might think too. Maybe a nice short to try it at first would be the way to go.

I can imagine that's very true. I think the editing and color correction may not be so bad - since porn has become a commodity market - it's the on screen talent that's the challenge here.

Which at the end of the day may be why porn is so blah in terms of story line. Good looking and being sexually adept does not necessarily mean able to act.

A few minutes ago I finished reading a quick story that i think has good potential for a video re-creation. When I read it, I immediately thought of this thread. Oh, come on now Lit folks. Don't tell me no one else can think of any specific stories here that would make good pr0n films. Let's hear your thoughts, as well as ones you would like to make a debut in.
 
If only those making a short video and posting it on porn tube could at least get some idea from literotica or any erotic stories, instead of immediately suck...lick...fuck...it is predictable and boring.

I just keep on clicking fast forward and trying to see an intereting dialogue and some teasing erotic conversation that leads to sex.
