Ciao, Dome60, e benvenuto!
Non faccio i 'PM', ma sarei molto felice a fare un po di 'chat' qui nella mia boudoir... (E mi dispiace se faccio errore in italiano, non ci sono molti opportunità a praticare...!)
Milano? Mi piace Milano. Sono stata lì alla fine dell'estate scorsa per qualche ore, in viaggio a casa, dopo una vacanza in Italia. Ho fatto una passegiata nel tetto della cathedrale, molto bello... Sono ancora lì le sculture? Bellissime...

N, Milan! Is there reference to the shopping in there, as well as the beauty of the cathedral?
I only know Florence and south of there. I spent a weekend in Rome alone once and had serious pick-up offers three times through the Saturday. Somewhat blunt they were. Sitting on the grass looking at the Colosseum and five minutes into polite conversation she said, "It's such a warm day - do you not need to remove your shirt?" I made a very polite British kind of response I think.

Shopping? No, didn't do any shopping! There's reference to the sculptures currently on display in the cathedral and on its roof, absolutely beautiful, by a British artist, actually, gorgeous abstract forms in marble and various other materials.
I love your pick-up story! H tells a story from his youth when he was working in Italy, in the Po valley, and getting on very nicely with a local girl, but didn't take it further (he was in a relationship at the time). His Italian colleague was horrified, and asked him bluntly "But why did you not fuck her?"....
Got to love the directness, I think it comes from the simplicity of the language compared to ours, in that, as I see it there is usually just one way to express something, whereas in English, because our language is rooted in so many others, French, Norse etc, there are quite often four or five different ways to say something, all nuanced slightly differently. Which must be a nightmare for non-native speakers!
Oh, and I'm so glad you're feeling better, by the way...

You mean Gillian Anderson? She is just amazing, isn't she? I never watched the X-files, but I loved her in The Fall and more recently in War and Peace. Such a good actress. I have a vague recollection that she was on stage in something last year in London, but didn't see it...

I work in Milan and I live in North suburbs about at half distance between Milan and Como.
The Milan cathedral is very interesting and I think that the sculptures on the roof were there for Expo2015. Now I don't know if are still there.
I tried to write in english and you have to forgive my mistakes, but tell me if you prefer if I write in italian.
Now I have to work, asap I'll tell you some detail if me.

Sì, mi ricordo adesso, Expo2015.... Probabilmente non sono ancora lì, le sculture.
Va bene per me che tu scrivi in italiano. Se gli altri vogliono sapere tutti che ci scriviamo, c'è Google...
Perché ho imparato l'italiano? Per gli inglese è difficile a decidere quale lingua a imparare, perché ci sono molti lingue europee. Più facile a decidere a imparare inglese per i francesi, i tedeschi, gli italiani forse! E ho imparato francese e tedeschi a scuola, tanti anni fa... Io e mio marito abbiamo deciso a studiare italiano perché passiamo molte vacanze in Italia, e ci sembra che sia più divertente quando si può parlare, legge, sentire qualcosa della gente del paese.
E forse non è spesso che una signora inglese parla un po d'italiano, in fatto la domanda che gli italiani sempre domandare è 'perché'!

No, I'm not quite sure what's going on with the hair there, actually! I do recall that we got a bit wet that afternoon walking about in some light drizzle, and it does have a tendency to go a bit wild after a soaking...

Ieri sera ho guardato tutte le foto e ho letto i tuoi post.
Come è adesso il clima in Inghilterra, ho visto che ha piovuto molto e tante persone hanno avuto problemi con acqua. Spero a casa tua tutto OK.
A Milano niente pioggia da ottobre e problemi di pollution.
Adesso piove ma spero week end di sole perché vado al mare.

Mi piace Liguria anche, abbiamo passato tre o quattro giorni una volta a San Bartolomeo, e una altra volta a Finale Ligure - bellissime...
Mi ricordo che il pesce nei restauranti è stato molto buono...

Ma mi piace i giorni d'inverno, accendo il fuoco la sera, bevo il vino, e... chissà che cosa succede poi...
È possible a nuotare nel mare a questo tempo del anno vicino a tua casetta?

No no entrare in acqua non è possibile, troppo freddo. Se c'è il sole è bello passeggiare sulla spiaggia e si gira per ristoranti e locali. In Italia d'inverno fa freddo non siamo in Marocco.Grazie
