Here're a couple of short articles to inform you of which individuals are exempt from, as the Obama administration calls it, the "shared responsibility provision", aka, the individual mandate:

http://www.advisory.com/Daily-Brief...be-exempt-from-the-ACA-mandate-The-final-list

And here's some concise info from the Social Security Administration on what, to them, constitutes religious exemption:

What's really getting weird is that every day now, instead of people talking...

...all I'm constantly hearing is the bleating of sheep being led to the fleecer.

Indian tribesmen already get health care through the Indian Health Service. Why should they have to have two health plans at once?

Plus, that's not even true, the tribal council of each individual tribe decides whether you can get that option, because what we have as "health insurance" actually super, super sucks and if the options are better under affordable care we can totally opt in. Basically all the Indian Health Service does is guarantee that you can't be turned away. You still need supplement plans if you want anything done.

Reminds me of the Holocaust roundups. Rich Jews rode in Pullman cars, peasants rode in boxcars.

Cruz has for now become the “it” guy for the conservative base as a result of his speech, probably boosting his presidential ambitions. But he has also helped reshape the entire approach Republicans are taking to Obamacare. House speaker John Boehner is suggesting that Republicans will seek a one-year delay in implementing Obamacare as part of any deal to continue funding the government. The Cruz speech may be partly responsible for rattling Senate majority leader Harry Reid so much that he admitted that Obamacare’s tax on medical devices was “stupid,” even while insisting he’d accept no changes in the law. Cruz’s speech may also have spurred Democratic senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia to announce that he wants a one-year delay of Obamacare’s mandate that individuals buy health insurance. And Cruz’s criticisms of Obamacare were partially validated Thursday when the White House announced it was postponing enrollment in most of the small-business exchanges, originally scheduled to open on October 1

John Roberts said ObamaCare is a tax, and he wasn't lying. Its a massive income tax on peasants and the self employed, disguised as the Red Cross.

AND LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR, OBAMACARE IS THERE. Title, taxes, dealer preparation fees, destination charges, and tags not included.

In any major program rollout, there are bound to be delays and unforeseen circumstances.

Bottom feeders like you will pounce on each and every one of them as some sort of "evidence" that the "program isn't working".

Meanwhile, the core components of Obamacare are proceeding as scheduled, and there is not one God damned thing you or your fellow travellers can do about it.

Lippmann talked about all this in his Public Philosophy. Trolls should read it.

The central problem here is the notion that Obama and his base can fundamentally change America with only one extra vote.

In the instant case, Dems lost their extra vote when Brown won, so Obamacare was rammed through on the pretense that the most major social welfare program in a generation was mere budgetary reconciliation.

Obamacare was written in total secrecy by lobbyists for insurance/pharma. Ordinary Americans, and members of the other party, had no say.

Obamacare was totally partisan, so now Obama's minions are surprised it lacks wide approval.

They would have seen all this coming had they known how to develop consensus before writing a bill.

Ramming Speed!

Let us count the ways...

ONE
But Obamacare was written in total secrecy by lobbyists for insurance/pharm, etc.

It was rammed through on the pretense that the biggest social welfare legislation in a generation was mere budgetary reconciliation.

TWO
Instead, the bill was written in total secrecy by lobbyists, and it was rammed through in totally partisan fashion.

THREE

FOUR

Edited to add:
SIX! (I'm beginning to think we have a bot here, Laurel)

SEVEN!
Obama knew how to develop an open, participatory, bipartisan health care program. He displayed that knowledge over and over:

Sadly, Obama didn't take his own advice. Obamacare was written in total secrecy by lobbyists for insurance/pharm, etc.

Obamacare was pushed through not because it was the best idea to improve national health care, but because Obama/Pelosi/Reid saw an ideological opportunity.

A mature, educated person would understand that genuine discussion has nothing to do with Person A or Person B.

It has to do with the issues facing the nation.
