Obamacare: 83% of docs considered quitting

The way Obamacare can be repealed is if the majority of both chambers of Congress vote to do just that...

...the Republican-majority House of Representatives voted 244-185 today to repeal it, but that vote is mostly symbolic because the Democrat-majority Senate will not vote to repeal Obamacare.

So, some House Republicans are finally beginning to get down to the nitty-gritty with the "power over the purse" they Constitutionally possess...

80 House Republicans Sign Letter Urging Speaker Boehner To Halt Any Further Funding of Obamacare

It's not a new idea, but the Republicans haven't followed through with this power before because they've feared to enter a battle with the Democrat President and Democrat-majority Senate that, if it goes to actual political war, could easily shut-down the federal government completely...

...another item may very well soon come-up that the House Republicans also have total stopping power over: the debt ceiling is going to have to be raised once more if the federal government is to continue its spending.

Less than 4 months to November...

It's actually time to LOWER the debt ceiling, not raise it! If we're serious about getting out of debt, it has to happen.

And Mensaboy adds economics to the long list of stuff he doesn't understand.

Shut up Alt maggot, I'm twice as smart as you'll ever be. The article says 83% of those surveyed (699 doctors). The survey results are here:

http://www.doctorsandpatients.org/resources/85-physician-attitudes-survey-june-2012

The "Woofer" said the OP was in effect "Gullible and dumb." I asked him to prove the survey wrong by showing proof to the contrary. He's failed to do so. Now I'll ask you to do the same, prove the survey didn't ask 699 doctors and receive the results published. Or go fuck yourself, Alt coward.
God, but you're a dumbass.

the "news" report was titled:
Report: 83 percent of doctors have considered quitting over Obamacare

First paragraph stated:
Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.

Now, if you weren't such a dumbass you'd know that groups do survey's and extrapolate the results as representative of the population as a whole, in this case, the population of "American physicians".
The article is claiming, based on the results of their survey, 83% of all "American physicians" have considered quitting because of Obamacare.

If they weren't claiming that, the title would be:
Report: 83 percent of doctors surveyed have considered quitting over Obamacare
and the first paragraph would read:
Eighty-three percent of American physicians surveyed have considered leaving their practices....
But they didn't. They said 83% of American Physicians, meaning of all American Physicians. There's absolutely not other reason to word it the way they did.

O2B read that and started a thread titled Obamacare: 83% of docs considered quitting because:
1. He believes 83% of all American doctors have considered quitting
or
2. He's a troll and didn't really believe it.

I don't need to prove the survey didn't ask 699 doctors, that was never a claim. Not even BD, who merely said O2B was "Gullible and dumb", which is obviously the case, unless he's just a troll.

So again, you're dumbass for thinking the fact that, because no one has done an actual random & good survey proving otherwise, the report is accurate.

Anyone who thinks doctors aren't discouraged to the point of quitting is a fucking moron.

Some of you people are detached from reality.

It's always nice to meet someone who not only knows everything but does so with God like certainty.

Look stupid, I didn't defend the veracity of the survey or the story, I attacked Badwoofer for insisting the survey was false without evidence to back it up. Then you showed up like the lame cowardly alt you are and stuck your nose into it trying to make it all about me. Sneak the fuck off clown.

You should just put him on iggy before he makes you look dumb again.

LOL...the ole Vetty double standard at work once again.

We're supposed to take your biased bigoted cut-n-paste at face value, while you whine like the pathetic bitch you are when people call you out. "You need to supply moar proooooof!"

Episodes like this give us great insight as to why both of your heterosexual marriages failed.

That wouldn't stop the program at all, only make deficits soar. Republicans would be better off defunding Medicare though since it's far more costly and far more socialist than Obamacare.

This is exactly the kind of misinformation you typically buy into. Kinda surprised that you're not behind it.

You should have been able to just eyeball this and see that it's fake. Took me 30 seconds to see it.

I've never seen anyone who likes to make himself look like a dumbass more than you do.

Maybe you should go back and read from the beginning, not that I think you'd comprehend it with a second read any better than you did the first time. BD never said the survey was false, he said, by implication, the conclusions were false (which anyone with half a brain would know) and O2B was gullible and dumb for believing them. You make yourself look like a dumbass for challenging that statement.
Then you make yourself look like even more of a dumbass by then trying to narrow it down to "I was only talking about the 699 results" and trying to convince yourself, and others, that's what BD was talking about.

I can only conclude you're as stupid as you appear since you can't seem to figure it out. Though, I admit, you could just be completely disingenuous, which is even worse.

Nevertheless, no M.D. in America is actually going to be made working-poor by this reform.

The one doctor that I know personally, an old friend from high school, thinks Obamacare is wonderful. Of course, she is a black female, too. A staunch Obama supporter. It's her main flaw... otherwise she is one of the sweetest people you'd ever meet.

I don't believe the 83% considering quitting over Obamacare, either.

What career field would doctors switch to? Which one will let them keep their nice home and continue to pay off a quarter million dollars of student loans? Hotel & Restaurant management?

Exactly. I guess some of them could go into research or something without direct patient contact. But if that's what they wanted to do they would have done it in the first place.

Even if they don't care for Obamacare, they really don't have much choice unless they are old enough to retire anyway.

I had you figured out as a disingenuous asshole and bullshitter from day one.

In all honesty, you feel the same way about anyone who disagrees with you, unless they have large breasts.

I went to the doctor last week and had to fill out new paperwork because my health insurance has changed (unlike Byron, VatAss and AJ, I take personal responsibility for the health of myself and my family).

Anyway, the last page of the paperwork was this political diatribe warning me of the huge negative consequences of Obamacare and that we just needed to be aware of this. I refused to sign it and the receptionist said she hears that a lot.

Oh but I do. That is beside the point. Where is my proof?

PROOF!

Chuckle, no you don’t; this coming from a birther and a grown, supposedly educated, man who believes “an un-named Indian guy” is an impeachable source!

I really dunno what proof you want from me, passed me reading the article and links to you and explaining how to carry out a valid survey and showing you with sparkly arrows and stuff where they changed the question.

Are you really that dumb to believe because no one has proved that 83% aren't considering leaving the medical field because of the ACA, that that means the article is true?

Apparently, yes he is.

But the study of how the poll was conducted indicates that 'random' means, "those who felt strong enough about it to take time to return the survey".

I receive surveys in the mail from the NRA on a regular basis, asking directed questions about whether I support various gun control plans. I never bother to return these, as they are not true surveys. These surveys are meaningless.

I have been surveyed by telephone several times, once recently by Nielson (which amused me as I do not own a television) - but even the Nielson questions were relevant regardless of my status as non-audience. This was obviously a random survey from which I could take data for forming opinions.

The survey you are touting as evidence failed to gain the response required to make it valid.

Thanks for saving me the time and effort explaining it. Not sure he’ll get it though.

Vette. You want me to pop round and read this for ya too?

But, as an analogy, you remember when LN used to post 90 odd % of Americans believed 9/11 was an inside jobby based on a phone in poll to the Alex Jones show.

You know what, I never proved that the figures were wrong, but then neither did I have to. Anyone with an intelligence level above that of a rock could immediately see that the poll results were ludicrously bogus.

But, she beLIEved that 90 odd % of Americans thought that 9/11 was an inside job based on that. She demonstrated how gullible and dumb she was, in just the same way O2B and you just did.

For that you just earned yourself another laughing dog, thanks.

Woof!

Coward. Do you believe it has any veracity? (I’m not expecting an answer.)

I attacked Badwoofer for insisting the survey was false without evidence to back it up.

THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT BALD BAREFACED LIE!

Quote the post where I said that, do it now or prove yourself to be a liar without any personal integrity or honour.

Then you showed up like the lame cowardly alt you are and stuck your nose into it trying to make it all about me. Sneak the fuck off clown.

Oh but you made it about you. There is little alternative when the proof is right in front of your face than to point out your errors; errors that 12 yo studying elementary statistics wouldn’t make.

Don’t take it personally; treat it as an opportunity to learn. Though how you’ve manage to get through 60 odd years without learning basic stuff like this is beyond me. Your behaviour here and on other threads indicates that you are incapable of learning a damn thing.

Woof!

Who gives a fuck what you conclude, you stupid dunce?

You can call anyone stupid, a dunce or a clown all you want.

Your problem is you’ve just conclusively demonstrated what you are so it hardly achieves very much, except to provide another laugh at your expense.

Woof!

Whether you believe the study or not seems to be ideological, few here rely on facts when they are presented. That said, there are many who are now making choices of careers, and the best and brightest have many options open to them. And many are opting not to go into medicine to start with, leaving either the needed numbers of new entrants unfilled, or filled by the somewhat less qualified to take those spots bypassed by those who've now said 'no thanks' to a system choked with regulation and government intervention.
