For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We're Might Be In Ukraine

How awesome for you 👍

Which one have they told forced you to vote for?
They would if their duopoly was threatened. Look at how they reacted when Ross Perot led both George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton in the polls in June 1992. Perot had 39%, Bush 31% and Clinton 25% in a June 1992 Gallup poll.

Can you answer the question seriously?
You actually believe people aren't arrested in Russia for their vote.

How sweet.

Read the articles. Putin has support because he arrests or kills people who don't support him.

If you believe you can't go to your polling station and vote for your candidate without being arrested or killed, please explain where and why.

So you have to vote for someone? Please tell me who threatened your family and why you didn't report it to authorities.

You are not answering the question.

Please define "free and fair elections". How does the US have them, and how does Russia not have them?

I did answer it. You're just an idiot.

Please, move to Russia and try to vote for someone other than Putin. Make sure to tell everyone at the polling station.

If the rumours are true, powerful people threatened Perot with outing his daughter as a lesbian (in 1992) unless he pulled out of the race. For a few months, he was out of the race, and then he re-entered. Perot was now polling in third place.

Is that "free and fair"?

Speaking of Russian elections, didn't Clinton and friends rig Russia's 1996 presidential election to ensure that Yeltsin beat Zyuganov?

"If the rumors are true...."

What the fuck are you talking about?

I asked you a question about your voting and you're discussing rumors of other people?

Holy fuck dude

You're dodging and deflecting your bullshit.

This is 2024 and Putin remains dictator of Russia for 6 more years. (Will be 36 in total)

Here's a simple answer - in the US, you can vote for whoever you want and that vote is counted.

In Russia, that is not true.

We're not getting anywhere. You refuse to answer. We live in a country where 30-40% of the population doesn't believe that Joe Biden won fair and square in the 2020 presidential election, while the rich have a "rules for thee, not for me" attitude, so it's absurd to be taking a moral highground about elections in Russia.

Lol... Of course they do .... The Republican party has been selling them unsupported bullshit.

I answered the question... You vote, it is counted.

Whether someone tells you it isn't or not is a separate topic of grifters and bullshitters.

In Russia, you don't get to make it that far. You vote for someone other than Putin and are arrested.

According to the 2024 Russian presidential election count:

Vladimir Putin (Independent): 76,277,708 votes
Nikolay Kharitonov (Communist): 3,768,470 votes
Vladislav Davankov (New People): 3,362,484 votes
Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic): 2,795,629 votes

The US presidential elections have the electoral college, which basically means that Biden's win in 2020 came down to just tens of thousands of votes in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona, and not the 7 million votes that Biden won by in the nationwide popular vote. On the face of it, isn't that less democratic?

Yes, you believe that's an actual count.

Your vote counts. If you vote for Peter Smith, Peter Smith gets a vote.

In Russia, you vote for Peter Smith and you get arrested.

Yes, you believe that's an actual count.
When a country is at war, that often tends to rally a country's population more behind the leader. That's what has happened in the Russian election. There are some exceptions of course, like Britain in July 1945 when Winston Churchill's Conservative Party lost in a landslide to Clement Attlee's Labour Party. The attitude there in Britain at the time seemed to be that Attlee was the leader for peace time, and the British public wanted public services built, not a war against their WW2 allies the Soviet Union. In the US, FDR died and his replacement had a completely different view towards the Soviets, which is why the DNC in 1944 had replaced Henry A. Wallace as vice president with Harry S. Truman as FDR's health declined.

Are you seriously suggesting that the Russian authorities are going to arrest all those millions of Russians who voted for candidates who weren't Putin?

They started a war.

That is not a true count.
That's what has happened in the Russian election.
Nope

Are you seriously suggesting that the Russian authorities are going to arrest all those millions of Russians who voted for candidates who weren't Putin?
They do. Not suggesting reality.

You're the type of person who believes Putin's version of reality that Poland started world war 2 and Ukraine should be absorbed back into Russia

Zelenskyy is putting pressure on the US to get ammo. Ukraine has been striking Ruski oil refineries. Russia is now down 600,000 barrels a day so far which as it continues will drive up world oil prices since Russia is somewhat beating the oil sanctions.
