With a mostly Democratic Congress now in session, and gorgeous, strong ladies like Miss Ocasio-Cortez ( she's hot ) leading the pack, will the Democrats crush the Republican scum and take back the White House in 2020 ?

I'm hoping that Trump goes to jail and the Rethug's run Pence/Ryan for 2020 and get their asses handed to them by Gabbard/ Warren!:D

Yeah.....Just as Hillary and Kaine did. If that's a Democratic ticket you think can win you need to keep your safe place cozy.

Electing one woman would be a milestone, but two....Laughable

They won the popular vote. More individual voters voted for them than for anyone else. Three million more voters than voted for anyone else.

But facts depress you Trumpettes, don't they? ;)

It isn't now time for a woman to serve as President of the US. It is decades past the time when it should have happened.

Remind me again who sits at the big desk in the oval office ? Its Trump and that's a fact also.Another one who uses the popular vote nonsense turning a loss into winning. She won nothing, unlike Trump who won the Presidency.

Like it or not you've got 6 more years of Trump to give you sleepless nights. I can't wait to read all the whining after he wins his second term.

I know who sits in the desk--and who is miserable there because he is being exposed to the world. He is now and forever will be the laughing stock of the world for overgrabbing and not sitting quietly on what he was getting away with. Just stop lying about who is more popular, which is what you did. Trump lost the popular/individual choice contest by three million votes.

Try to be careful--as much as your brain permits--in expressing what you mean. You were speaking of the rejection of Clinton and Kaine by the people, when THE PEOPLE picked Clinton and Kaine over Trump by three million votes.

So its President Clinton and Vice President Kaine ? When did that happen ? You're so very easy to trigger....I like that :D

It at the desk.....You sit at a desk not in it...You're welcome :)

Yes, I quite agree that when you've lost an argument, it's good to look for something to nitpick in the wording of a post, even if the first sentence of your nitpick isn't grammatical. :D

Could you possibly be more stupid in evading the point? :D

Do the Trumpettes here give out gold stars for deflection and distraction? Is that what you're after on this thread? :D

Sure about all that, ain'tcha?

You gonna be sorry for waiting to read stuff when he doesn't? ;)

It at the desk.....

Finally, you describe Cheeto right.

Hardly, if that little piss ant doesn't get into line Pelosi will have her office set up in a broom closet.:D

It only matters how the states vote. The popular vote isn't what matters in a Presidential race.:rolleyes:

No matter how much you fondle yourself, Clinton will never be President.

That wasn't the claim. The claim was that the people didn't accept Clinton/Kaine. No matter how you want to juggle it, Trump did not win the popular vote. Clinton did--with a margin of three million votes. It isn't the people who put Trump in to tromp on the office.

I'm perfectly content with you Trumpettes being losers to the end.

I voted for Trump...He won

Here in GA I voted for Brian Kemp....He won.

Losing sure feels good :D

That you keep posting distraction from the lack of a popular vote win means you're scared shitless how this is going to develop. :D

You didn't have to tell me that you voted for those sleazebags. It's written all over your sleazy posts.

Damn you're easy....All this name calling just because someone doesn't agree with you. The truth is we both get one vote, thats it which makes us equal.:)

look at the 2016 county election map

Yes, Hilary won the popular vote, but she lost the electoral college
It's the city people vs the country people
What will the future bring?
Unfortunately, once the populace learns that you can vote money to individuals, it's over
Socialism wins
We are doomed!

With a mostly Democratic Congress now in session,
The House is still Republican majority until January. That's how our system works. Representative-elect Ocasio-Cortez gets as many votes in Congress for the rest of this year as I do, zero.

Legislatively the Congress is pretty much the same in Jan as it is now. Due to Senate cloture rules the only things that were getting through Congress took bipartisan support. The lone exception was the once a fiscal year budget reconciliation. The change in the House blocks a strictly partisan budget reconciliation. Getting a bill through Congress hasn't really changed much with the House switch. It's still bipartisan or bust.

How the Congress behaves might have some impact on 2020. There are some high profile issues that have bipartisan support that haven't gotten through Congress, like infrastructure funding, that offer possibilities. If Democrats can work with Trump and Senate Republicans they can at least argue they are part of the solution. It's a double-edged sword for 2020 since Republicans can also claim to be part of those solutions.

Democrats can use oversight to investigate the hell out of the executive branch. That can help if the voters that aren't already voting D see it as a good use of oversight or they find something seriously damaging in the eyes of Republican voters. It can backfire if those swing voters see them as giving relatively minor issues the full Benghazi treatment.

Using the small advantage the House majority gives might help with the 2020 Presidential race. It might also hurt the Democratic nominee. Politics is complicated.
