Zoos and strip clubs depress me.

Zoos, if they're just crappy roadside attractions or underfunded city zoos, make me sad and angry. Modern thought-out zoos and parks might the last sanctuary for many species that are going extinct in the wild (or already have). Thinking of that breaks my heart and makes me furious.

I've never been to a strip club, so I can't comment on those.

Yes, zoos can be depressing as I don't like animals being kept in enclosures. But there are two things that are better about them now than they were in the past.

1. Animals are not kept in cages anymore but are usually kept in compounds now so that they have more room to roam, and the compounds are made more realistic like their natural habitats.

2. A lot of zoos are doing whatever they can to help keep the population from going extinct and are actively involved in breeding programs to combat the loss of endangered species.

Strip clubs - not sorry for the girls that work there as they can make a LOT of money. (I had a buddy that dated a stripper in the early 90's, even back then, she was making over $4k a week working at one of the higher end strip clubs in the area.)

Feel sorry for the guys that go and think that a dancer will go out with them or likes them just because he spent $100 bucks on her for a couple of dances. They end up wasting their entire paycheck on one night of wasted fantasies.

The zoo here is a great place to go for a walk on a weekday. Not many people. And while the zoo animals are in enclosures, the wild animals are fenced out, so you can feel safe from the fucking bears while still having a walk in the woods.

I don’t mind strip clubs. Quickest way to throw money away and the only thing you get is smelling like pussy after you leave.

For zoos I hate them. I hate when animals are being held in captivity for our entertainment. Regardless if they were born in the zoo or aquarium.

The last time I went to a zoo was nearly 20 years ago. I have a vivid memory of making eye contact with a lowland gorilla. The look of sadness on his face never left me.

I'm of like mind. Seeing animals caged like that is depressing. I went to a strip club once, but I was embarrassed, both for the strippers and their audience...it all seemed so cheap, tawdry, and degrading. I was talking to one of the strippers and she was a school teacher and single mom with two kids. She said she stripped because she needed the money.

I think of a zoo as a place to take kids, since I was a kid there. I don't see the appeal for adults.

Strip clubs can be fun when you bring a female with you. The strippers are usually all over the women

Zoos do an amazing job of educating and preserving endangered species. When I was a kid in the 60s. they were pretty grim. The Cincinnati zoo has picnic tables near the jail cells where neurotic gorillas used to be housed...

Things are infinitely better now.

I remember my rage when legendary character Jaques Cousteau used to fulminate against habitat destruction in S America... How much of France was he willing to return to wilderness?
