Ok, so, the question is this; what does being an air sign mean? And does that explain why I can't sleep without a fan blowing on me, and I can stand or sit in one spot for hours when the wind is blowing, just to feel the sensation of it against my skin?

What about the other signs? What are the characteristics there?

All I really know about my Libra sign is that I am supposed to be a peacekeeper, avoiding conflict (which, incidentally, fits me). That is about it~ so bring on the info from those of you who are in the know.

how odd, niteshade. i, too, am a libra and sleep with a fan blowing on me. i've always said that the wind hugs you, touching your skin everywhere at once. there's really nothing better than a pleasant breeze on my walk home from school. i ride with the window down in all seasons (blasting the heater accordingly)

coincidence? who knows. perhaps it's because we're both libras, or maybe we were just palm trees in a former life or something!

Often Librans are crippled by indecision unable to make a firm choice and face the commitment that this involves. Some resolve the dilemma by making a choice, and though it may not be the best option, stick to it thruogh thick and thin for fear of having to make yet another decision.
Ideally Libra's function is to resolve opposing possibilities and to seek a third way. Being an air sign, Libra can use its mind to help with the resolution of all conflicts. One of the major priorities is to establish harmonious and balanced partnerships. The importance of successful friendships often cause Librans to conceal those parts of character they think may offend others, such as anger.
Librans excel in group situations..are born diplomats, bringing enemies together to make them friends. Their charming artistic qualities enable them to create beautiful and pleasing environments.
The paradox for Librans is that they aim to create balance which can never really exist in a world undergoing constant change. Librans need to learn flexibility and to realize that their efforts to control their environment are unlikely tp be successful in a world which contains the other 11 signs.

My personal experiences with having a lot of Librans in my life always including my father and son, are they are genuinely loving people, though that love may sometimes be shown in strange ways. They tend to love animals, and in the case of my father nd son, have a quality about them which attract animals and small children (even thoise that don't know them) to their side in adoring worship whereever they go and completley without them having to do anything to earn it. My son actually had a spider crawl into his hand and spin it's web there a few months back!! My father has always had a similar effect with animals and children where they completely trust them. My son also has a way where small children look to him for protection and just being. Indecision has ruled the lives of nearly all Librans I have known, with their forever at war with themselves to try and decide A or B. It becomes a torture for them when the rest of the world expects a decision to be made. I have also found either they creates aneat and tidy, often beautiful environment for themselves, or a complete hovel....a wide disparity with rarely an in between. Overall they are caring people who are among the most sensitive and feeling I have known.....oh Librans can also be very big flirts.
