Zika Virus Outbreak Manmade?

Buy stocks in mozzie repellent companies.

DEET melts plastics. Citronella works quite well. Wear long pants and high boots and socks. 75% of mozzies don't fly above knee height.

Yellow fever used to get as high as New Jersey, malaria to Ottawa. Lyme disease always been around NA. West Nile has been here for quite a few years now. Bubonic plague is endemic in Arizona desert. Beaver fever in northern waters and e-coli closing beaches.

More people packed together flying around faster than controls can be put in place to stop disease movements.

We gave cows smallpox, who gave milkmaids cow pox, who were immune to small pox. Avian flu! They don't call it chicken pox for nothing. Measles to a pregnant women baby is far more dangerous.

Flavour of the month. Even WHO and CDC need to justify their budgets occasionally.

I read that the other day. First Africanized (Killer) Bees and now GM mosquitoes. We have a lot to thank Brazil for.

The article I read on this was describing the area of Brazil most affected by Zika as being the epicenter of the GM mosquito release in 2015. (a mid north eastern area along the Atlantic coast and inland)
The concern some scientists expressed is that the GMod would be interrupted/reversed by antibiotics, most notably tetracycline.
Biggest concern is that tetracycline is used in considerable doses throughout the livestock population in Brazil. So the GM mosquitos naturally gravitate to the shit of these animals, pick up sufficient tetracycline from the shit and have the GM negated.

Therefore the release of x billion mosquitos has exacerbated the effects of the magnitude of this disease.

Honestly, I did not invent this story. Scientists write papers on this stuff.

Zika virus: WHO declares global public health emergency, says causal link to brain defects ‘strongly suspected’

The action, which the international body has taken only three times before, paves the way for the mobilization of more funding and manpower to fight the mosquito-born pathogen spreading "explosively" through the Americas.

Nature is trying to de-evolve Mankind.

OH MY GOD...the inherent brilliance in that is astonishing. "They" make a new "bug" and Man invents a serum. "They" makes us all dumb, game over.

It makes me wonder even more if the missing link wasn't actually a virus.

Nature is trying to EVOLVE mankind. Eventually we develop resistances to diseases. Chicken pox probably killed thousands in early days. (not enough humans around for millions to die). Sickle cell anemia is people descended fro certain parts of Africa protects against malaria. If malaria was a bad world-wide as in Africa, we would all have sickle-cell genes.

They just cured Ebola! See what we can do when we put our minds to it. Zika next. Vaccine for pregnant women in two years in NA. Test it one SA women first.

NA screwed if a disease starts here. Who we going to test vaccine on?

I wonder if DDT is going to make a come back now? By popular demand even.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...-climate-change-may-have-fueled-zika-outbreak

Record-high temperatures last year in Brazil, Ecuador and other South America countries created ideal conditions for the mosquito that transmits Zika, which is suspected of causing birth defects, scientists said on conference call with reporters Friday.

The researchers, who cautioned any link between Zika and global warming remains unproven, said violent storms, floods and drought are prone to fostering the outbreak and spread of diseases, particularly in underdeveloped nations. In addition to creating conditions where viruses can thrive, extreme weather can hobble already over-taxed public health systems.

“Unless mitigated, climate change is likely to bring the spread of new emergent infectious diseases like Zika virus,” Nick Watts, who leads a commission on health and climate change for the medical journal The Lancet, said during the call.

Rising temperatures and increased rainfall can extend the geographic range and enrich breeding areas of mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and other insects that transmit diseases, scientists said. The pathogens they carry tend to become more resilient at higher temperatures and go through their life cycles faster.

If you believe that the outbreak is being accelerated by blooming mosquito populations due to global warming, then you must believe that the outbreak is man-made, in a roundabout way.
