Well according to the Japanese, the 2CD comes out on 27th November, Catalogue# AMCY-10100/1. In the USA, WEA are saying December 17th according to a release sheet spotted doing the rounds. Meanwhile in the UK, it looks like 2003 for the DVD.

All the news that fit to print folks! For you fellow fans this has been a long time coming. Hopefully our patience will have paid off.

Live Zep?

What year?

It looks as though it may be from a few years. I know more about what will be on the dvd set than the cd's. So far as I know the dvd's will include footage from Royal Albert Hall `70, Earls Court `75, and Knebworth `79, plus interviews, and other goodies. It's hoped that material from the `77 US tour will be included as well. There's also potential for the Danish TV special to be added. This project will give Jimmy Page the one the thing he felt he'd always lacked with Zeppelin, a proper live album. He's wanted to do a chronological live set for years, but was always overriden by Robert Plant. Why is anybody's guess.

It could be because they were very sloppy live, Page especially.

I got a hold of a bootleg of Zep in Rotterdam, in 1980 I think, Kashmir done 3 piece is a little sparce. I liked hearing the Rain Song with one guitar though, shows what's possible. The whole time I'm listening to it, I'm thinking you had to be there.

Page was sooo good in the studio....

Well that 1980 tour was a little erratic. Page was dealing with herion addiction, Plant wasn't really into the idea of being on the road (he'd just lost a son), Bonham was drinking more and more. Believe it or not, that tour had the least amount of technical problems. I'd have to look up the Rotterdam show in my live chronology to see the review for the show. Kashmir could be problematic live because of it's complexity and hypnotic effect. Have your attention wander for a second and it's easy to lose your place ( I can play the whole thing and I can say it's totally true.) I always thought that the Rain Song was a pretty piece. Still do, actually. Not easy to play either. Jimmy was good in the studio, still is. Wonder what's up his sleeve next.

Wow, this is the coolest news ever!

Oh, wait, I'm not a weed smoking high school student in 1974.

Ahhhhhhhh Johnny Cool we meet again and I see you're just as ignorant and simple minded as before. You maynot be a pot smoking high school student from 1974 but it's more than evident that you smoke enough of it now. Try going someplace you're wanted, like hell.
