What's the definitive word on women who have strong odors "down there"? Can it be controlled? Eliminated?

Some of us who delight in pleasing their women by going down on them struggle with this and yours truly has had his share of challenges. Needless to say when I met one who had zero odor - it was to both our delight! Yummm!

I'd say that if most of the women you go down on have an unpleasant smell then you're either in the wrong bars or you don't like the way women naturally smell. In which case, please don't tell them that because it fucks them up for the guys who do like the way they smell.

Now remember, he said STRONG ordors. I'm not one of those squeamish guys and I realize that there is a certain aroma that is to be expected. I mean, there are scent glands there for a reason afterall. However, a strong or in any way FISHY ordor is NOT normal. That is almost always a sign of at least a minor infection.

Don't jump on the guy too hard, he's here asking for diplomatic ways to deal with the issue. I've seen much more childish reactions to this particular issue.

Oh those immature reactions don't bother me. Thank you for clarifying.

There was at least one - she had an odor so strong I had a hard time using the bathroom for several minutes after she went for #1 (yes, she'd flush, but you know!). Not her fault, she is a sweet, wonderful and beautiful human being. But the issue is there. I am repulsed by the thought of going down on her. And yet, I have spent entire weekends down there on others :) I know, makes all you women jealous

Chances are, she either had an infection or poor hygiene, unless there was a medical condition/treatment or diet that caused her urine to have a very strong odor (which doesn't necessarily mean her vagina would smell offensive). Otherwise, if a woman bathes daily and after strenuous activity and is healthy, she should smell fine.

My scent definitely changes with my cycle, too, but I've never found it offensive, apart from the rare occasions I've had an infection, and then it's obvious something's wrong.

Was that an immature reaction? I'm so bad at judging these things.

If most of the women you're with have a foul odor, I really think there's something wrong. Yes, with them. But also with you for continuously ending up with these women. I just don't think it's that common. Am I wrong? Am I naive to think that the vast majority of women are healthy and clean and smell like women? I guess I haven't smelled that many.

Anyway, sorry as always for upsetting people. It's certainly a shame if this is such a widespread problem as you indicate.

Actually those kind of infections are very common. Why do you think all the tuna jokes circulate? Seriously though, vaginosis is a common bacterial infection that almost every woman will get at some point in her life. One of the symptoms, a fishy odor varying in strength based on the severity of the infection.

TBK, amatuer gynocologist. :D

My Wifes scent changes the closer she gets to her time also.
