Men are beautiful too
As he stands in front of the mirror,
he looks at himself and questions come.
Am I good looking enough to win her?
Is my body one that appeals to her?
How do I measure up to other men?
Thoughts haunt him as he ponders.
How do I approach her, get to know her?
Will I win a victory, only to lose it by words?
Will she shun me and mock me?
He knows the goodness of his heart,
the love he knows is in him.
The desire to share, torn by indecision.
He struggles to find his confidence,
believing what he has read and seen.
He looks from afar at those he desires,
yet approaching none out of fear.
Fear of the unknown, the rejection, the
possibility of hurts to his heart.
Standing bravely, he waits in hope.
A hope to be noticed by only one.
Ladies, men suffer from the same thoughts you have about your appearance. Men desire to be thought of as good looking and desirable, much the same as you do and struggle with those thoughts of themselves.
We have created an impossible world for average people to exist in, trying to measure up to standards that aren't realistic to achieve.
Put aside the fantasy and look at the real man before you. He is as you are, loving, kind, generous and caring. He is thoughtful and ready to share all who he is. All he asks for is a chance to prove himself and be accepted for who he is.
Beauty comes from within the heart and shows in that person's smile and what he does, not what he looks like.
